About this listen

Perry Stone hasn't gotten over his fear of being outside and he still hasn't settled into life in the Empire's Navy. After months of legal wrangling over his last assignment, he has been given a new assignment. He was looking forward to getting a new posting on a spaceship or a station. The problem is that his new job is on a planet. Worse, once there, the base is overrun by the enemy aliens and now Stone is trapped outside on a hostile planet, injured, and hunted by aliens bent of killing him.

Our hero faces challenges and stands up for right while fighting alongside Marines against wrongdoers. In the meantime the main character faces challenges and changes in his own body that causes him to question his own sanity.
Interesting and unexpected turns in the storyline keep the listeners attention with the aid of an exceptional reader. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Enjoyed every minute.

I love this series because the MC doesn't understand the trials he goes through. I think it funny that he doesn't see himself in as a leader but acts like it. He goes and learns what it takes to make those that follow you respect and follow you.

One of the best series I have read.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this story! It is interesting and humorous at the same time. The characters and aliens are well developed and intriguing. The only thing I questioned was how the enemy aliens fought. However I loved this tale and plan to move on to the next story in the series.

Enjoyable Tale

faded at the end I can only assume the next book ( do we still call them books? ) will go from there.

Struggled to finish , actually, it was a chore to listen from about chapter 3 on. The story borders on " fairytalish ". I could not ascertain if the storys dialogue was that "cheesy " or if the narrator was purposely trying his best to massacre the reading of it. If you enjoy books about Marines I would highly recommend "The Empires Corp's " series.

Don't waste your time.

It took about 12 to 15 chapters for the story to get going. Until then it's like listening to a guy play with his GI Joes.

It definitely an adult book which is ok, I just didn't expect it at first.

Once the story gets going it's pretty good.

The ending felt a little rushed, like he wasn't sure how to end it, or couldn't come up with a moral for the story.

It was better than I thought.
