About this listen

"You enslaved me!" "Nay, I liberated you, my lady. And there will be more liberating to come if you behave."

Imagine you’re engaged to marry a prince, but your father gambles away your dowry and sells you to a pirate captain who you are forced to marry. He’s cold and ruthless, so you run away, but then you get captured by more pirates, and just as they’re about to hurt you, your pirate husband shows up, with his sword to the captain’s throat as he roars, ”Touch my wife and I will destroy you all.”

As seen on TikTok! Married to a Pirate is a steamy dark fantasy romance with adventure and greek mythology.

TW: Abuse, sexual violence, death and suicide.

Not as much “spice” as I thought considering it’s a dark romance. It is very quick read.

The story is hard to put down.

This story had many commonalities with Jack Sparrow, LOL I loved it! The performance was perfect.

I would live a pirate!

I really wanted to like this book. The premise was good, but it lacked substance. I kept losing where the characters were physically in the world. Like watching a game of table tennis. Also the “foreshadowing” was so obvious it should have just come right out with it from the start. The author kept teasing about the steamy stuff which would have been fine if when it finally came it was descriptive at least. She kindly glossed over the whole thing with a “for the next three days they had sex” statement. I left the last two chapters unread.

Teasing confusion

I wanted to fall in love with this book and story but sadly I felt like it fell flat. when I saw IG/TikTok clips of readers promoting this book, it came off as more exciting and spicier. The story had the potential to be an epic pirate love and adventure and it feels like the author gave up halfway through and any spicy scenes were glossed over. Either give your readers a good plot or give them the spice that makes them want to stay.

The audio production wasn't horrible, but I don't feel that having only a male reader was the best course of action. The main characters were two males and one female and adding an actual female voice would have helped greatly in the audio flow for listeners.

I guess I had high hopes for this story and audio because the pirate genre always gets put in a cheesy light.

I didn't hate it but i was disappointed

I didn't like that Cpt Stone and Goregette almost didn't get their happy ending! I also feel it could've been longer!

I love the story line and the awesome cliffhangers but I was not expecting Captian Stone to be alive! what an ending!

This book was a great concept, but the loopholes at the end were too predictable and not executed well enough to make up for the lazy writing. The end just felt incredibly rushed. You never know where the main character stands on anything.

Overall the story was really good. I loved the MMC. The ending just felt very rushed to me. I would have loved to have gotten to dive in deeper and had more details. Or even less scenes and just a few more focused scenes.

It was good.

Good

This book had sooo much potential. But it was definitely rushed. The build-up was great, but it did not satisfy in the end. Very predictable story line as well which isn’t very fun for a book.

Story Line was rushed.

I love these kind of romances, adventures, and fantasy mixed together in this tale. So it was entertaining and fun but it’s not like “omg! What happens next!” But I still enjoyed it and looking forward to reading the next one. Anything with mermaids I’ll read.

It was good!

Good story overall. My only complaint was a lack of consistency in small details. The eye color of certain characters changes throughout the book and the author refers to the ocean around England as the Pacific. Otherwise the romance is a nice slow burn without being overly graphic. Plenty of action and adventure.

Good story
