About this listen

When Lily Locke receives a royal decree summoning her to the Kingdom of Crystalvia, she can hardly turn down the request; however, the invitation comes with a catch. When the queen begs Lily to crack a curse that has held their village captive for three years, Lily promises to do everything she can to free them - because, if she doesn’t, the kingdom will eventually languish… and disappear forever.

But as Lily digs deeper into the mystery behind their endless winter, she finds the truth is a lot more than she bargained for. And when her father becomes involved, the situation turns more dangerous than ever. Still, only one thing is certain: if Lily can’t fix the curse before the clock runs out, someone will die...and her name is up next.

Great Read

I really enjoyed listening to the book. Wonderful story line and the story teller was so easy to listen to. Now on to the next.

Hard pass

This was the worst book in the series. Ridiculous plot. Total waste of time.
If you do go ahead listen at 1.5X minimum.

So confused by the performer's apathy

I only made it to Chapter 3 and I gave up to just read it instead. I don't understand the choices the performer is making with the narration. It could be that they slowed down her reading speed artificially so it sounds like a struggle to get the words out. Maybe she thinks she shouldn't emote as the narrator/main character because it will leave her room to make the other characters more distinctive. Or did they just record all the words and piece them back together? It's truly awful and I really don't understand why there are so many reviews specifically saying what a great performer she is. Listening for less than 3 chapters stressed me out. I wish I could return it.
