Publisher's summary

She thrives in chaos. He prefers routine. The only thing they have in common? How much they hate each other.

From the bestselling author of Done and Dusted and Swift and Saddled, the highly anticipated next book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series, a small-town romance in which enemies turn to lovers when they’re forced to work together during one hot summer

“Another deliciously addictive romance . . . as sizzling as it is emotional and vulnerable.”—Elena Armas, New York Times bestselling author of The Spanish Love Deception

Teddy Andersen doesn’t have a plan. She’s never needed one before. She’s always been more of a go-with-the-flow type of girl, but for some reason, the flow doesn’t seem to be going her way this time.

Her favorite vintage suede jacket has a hole in it, her sewing machine is broken, and her best friend just got engaged. Suddenly, everything feels like it’s starting to change. Teddy is used to being a leader, but now she feels like she’s getting left behind, wondering if life in the small town she loves is enough for her anymore.

Gus Ryder has a lot on his plate. He doesn’t know what’s harder: taking care of his family’s 8,000 acre ranch, or parenting his spunky six-year-old daughter, who is staying with him for the summer. Gus has always been the dependable one, but when his workload starts to overwhelm him, he has to admit that he can’t manage everything on his own. He needs help.

His little sister’s best friend, the woman he can’t stand, is not who he had in mind. But when no one else can step in, Teddy’s the only option he’s got. Teddy decides to use the summer to try and figure out what she wants out of life. Gus, on the other hand, starts to worry that he’ll never find what he needs.

Tempers flare, tension builds, and for the first time ever, Gus and Teddy start to see each other in a different light. As new feelings start to simmer below the surface, they must decide whether they should act on them. Can they keep things cool? Or will both of them get burned?

Critic reviews

Lost and Lassoed has everything I’ve come to expect from a Lyla Sage novel; delicious tension, heartwarming vulnerability, characters you can’t help but root for, and more simmering heat than a Rebel Blue summer sun. Teddy and Gus are what off-limits, opposites-attract romance dreams are made of. Readers will be alternately clutching their pearls and their tissues. Lyla Sage once again pours her heart lovingly into each page on another delightful trip to Rebel Blue.”—B.K. Borison, author of Lovelight Farms

“Teddy and Gus are spicy, sizzling, enemies-to-lovers perfection! I loved every moment of their feisty banter, their steamy sexual tension, and their touching emotional journey as they found home in each other’s hearts.”—Chloe Liese, USA Today bestselling author of the Bergman Brothers series

“I rarely read books in one sitting, but you’d have had to pry Lost & Lassoed from my cold dead hands to get me to put it down. Lyla Sage delivers another scalding hot romance; this one is also a tender rumination on fathers and daughters, and the love that makes a family. Lost & Lassoed burrowed deep into my heart, and I know it’s going to stay there for a good long time.”—Kate Stayman-London, bestselling author of One to Watch

TEDDY BABY ?! *Faints*

I waited forever for this book, and let me tell you it was worth every second! The chemistry between Teddy and Gus is electric, with that delicious enemies to lovers tension that just doesn’t quit. Gus, with his filthy mouth, was absolutely everything; each line felt like a reward after all the anticipation. Teddy’s chaos paired perfectly with Gus’s strict routines, and watching them slowly let their walls down had me hooked from the start.

And let’s talk about the audiobook, phenomenal! The narrator brought every smirk, every heated glance, every vulnerable moment to life in a way that made me feel like I was right there in the story. If you’ve been craving a small town romance with heat, humor, and heart, this one is a must-read. I’m already ready for a reread!

A must read🤠😎❤️

I didn’t think I would feel so much like Teddy in this book. She has been my favorite female character to read in a while, and I couldn’t get enough of her Riley and Gus. Their blossoming romance was so pure and I was not expecting to cry over them out of pain and happiness as much as I did. Beautiful! This book was so beautiful!

Oh August daddy

I think I am in majority of the readers who were ecstatic to learn that Teddy and Gus got their own story. It was so blatant and the first two books that there was this immense chemistry between these two characters. And boy oh boy did this book not disappoint. Gus and Teddy just makes sense to me. The push and pull between the each other is tangible. I could literally feel it. The spice was definitely spicy. I wanted more spice thank you. And the fact that Teddy has always been around. She’s always been a part of the family And there’s no drama or trouble between Teddy and Cam is amazing! I wish the story was longer but honestly, I love this book with my whole heart.

August & Theodora

I knew that Gus & Teddy would be explosive in many ways, but i had no idea how perfect they would be in the calm moments. Gus was such a butthole in his opinions and how he treated Teddy, so I honestly had to take a while to find him deserving of the awesomeness that is Teddy Anderson. But ultimately, he redeemed himself and I think these two were always written in the stars.

Lyla Sage has done it again!

I think this might be my favorite book of hers so far! And the narrator’s voice matched exactly what I had imagined the characters to sound like! Truly a great listen.

The performance was PHENOMENAL and really brought it to life.

Lyla has done it again, I finished this book in less than a week. The only thing I wished is that it would have been a little longer or a little more of a slow burn. The story felt a bit shorter and faster paced.

Lost, Lassoed and Lane 😭

Hot take -this is my top listen for 2024. The way that Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke brought Lylas words to life was beyond my expectations. This was very much an anticipated read, especially knowing the dynamic of Teddy and Gus in books one and two and Lyla delivered in so many ways.

Teddy and Gus are shockingly similar in the way they show up for the people they love...and it takes some unique circumstances for them to truly understand each other.

The enemy banter, the way Teddy says "what's this?" and flicks his nose...I'll never get over it. It really was the simple things that took this book to the next level for me.

In my next life I'd like to be called Teddy so that Samantha Brentmoor can say "Teddy, Baby" to me over and over again.

And if you don't cry listening to Lost, Lassoed and Lane we can't be friends.

Lyla Sage continues to outdo herself

I wish I could put into words the way Lyla’s writing makes a person feel. You can feel her heart and soul in every word and it takes an already fantastic story to something that etches itself on your heart. I have waited so long for Gus and Teddy’s story and I’m so glad it came to me in the timing it did. They are the perfect balance of passion and peace for each other and I am so honored to get to be a part of it. This book has something extra special tho. It felt like an already incredible author brought an even deeper element to this story and it was heartbreaking and beautiful and I wish I could read it again for the first time.

The narrators are fantastic and do incredible jobs with these characters. Jason Clarke sounds like he gargles aquarium rocks for breakfast in the very best way
