About this listen

From Adrian Tchaikovsky, author of Children of Time and winner of the Arthur C. Clarke Award, Lords of Uncreation is the final high-octane instalment in the Final Architecture space opera trilogy.

He's found a way to end their war, but will humanity survive to see it?

Idris Telemmier has uncovered a secret that changes everything – the Architects’ greatest weakness. A shadowy Cartel scrambles to turn his discovery into a weapon against these alien destroyers of worlds. But between them and victory stands self-interest. The galaxy’s great powers would rather pursue their own agendas than stand together against this shared terror.

Human and inhuman interests wrestle to control Idris’ discovery, as the galaxy erupts into a mutually destructive and self-defeating war. The other great obstacle to striking against their alien threat is Idris himself. He knows that the Architects, despite their power, are merely tools of a higher intelligence.

Deep within unspace, where time moves differently, and reality isn’t quite what it seems, their masters are the true threat. Masters who are just becoming aware of humanity’s daring – and taking steps to exterminate this annoyance forever.

Critic reviews

Adrian Tchaikovsky: king of the spiders, master world-builder and asker of intriguing questions. His books are packed with thought-provoking ideas (as well as lots of spiders; did I mention the spiders?). One of the most interesting and accomplished writers in speculative fiction

(Christopher Paolini)

[Adrian Tchaikovsky] writes incredibly enjoyable sci-fi, full of life and ideas

(Patrick Ness)

A thoughtful, sweeping space adventure

A great ending overall

I quite enjoyed this third book. The series overall is i think something someone would either love or dislike. And the ending is in the vein of the other two books. One thing I quite enjoyed is the time the author took to really develop the end.

Some parts could have been a bit more developed and other felt a bit redundant.

It is a space opera, and ends as such, without fuss or bang. Maybe the only real point, it's a bit predictable. But we'll written, and if you've enjoyed the characters then, it will be a good book.

What an absolute blast

All things click together in the end , character develop at its finest, incredible storyline with many twists and turns and fights and victories , just when you think it can’t get worse the writer sprinkles in a bit more hell

Epic end to an epic tale

I now have the book hangover from hell. I have loved every book by this author so far, I started euth the amazing audiobook series ‘children of time’ and now this series has been even more enjoyable. The plot was great, there was, as always,
a heartbeat of empathy running through it; I love the characters and the story was just gripping throughout. Made me feel like I did when I was twelve years old watching Star Wars for the first time. The narrator is superb- I loved the performance.

great end to the series

I thoroughly enjoyed this space opera series and the narrator did a fantastic job. throughout. I have recommended it to colleagues as well as the Children of Time series that I enjoyed as well. I hope we get another inventive space opera series from the author of the same quality in the future and will look forward to more titles by the narrator. Great job.

Brilliant

The story and performance is great. I do not like Tchaikovsky’s identity politics but it doesn’t matter because characters, world and story is splendid. Only women can do great things. Men are fragile and needs a strong woman by their side to be able to maintain organ function. If you are okay with this kind of political word view then you can enjoy a great story - I did, and I recommend it. Don’t stay in your bobble :-)

Long and repetitive

Quite sorry I wasted the time. I love Adrian Tchaikovsky, but this looks as if an editor's hand didn't touch it.
