About this listen

Poor judgment: knowing better yet doing it anyway.

Flint Stone is a professional in every way.

He’s a police officer with the K-9 unit and works at Gun Barrel High as the school resource officer. In his spare time, he’s working his heart out to create a successful gym from the ground up.

He’s loved by every single person he ever encounters - student, faculty, and employees - everyone but Camryn Elvis Presley.

The only thing they have in common is their mothers’ poor excuses for names.

Period. The end.

So why is it every time she crosses his path that he has the urge to mess up her perfectly curled hair? Or unbutton a few of her prim and proper buttons?

He knows he should stay away, yet like the high schoolers he’s around every day, he has no choice but to react first and think about the consequences later.

Side note - bad decisions are made, leading to lapses in judgment that threaten both of their jobs. Yet when the time comes, neither one can seem to find the wherewithal to care. Why? Because being bad feels so good.

Lord have mercy

(Flint & Camryn): finally finishing this series and I'm so pleased. This book to me seemed like an enemies to lovers/unrequited love romance book. Camryn doesn't like Flint even more since he's always driving her crazy. Flint has had a thing for her for years but she's never been available. Now the time has come and with a little CrossFit training will bring new light to her eyes. LLV is hilarious as usual and she does well with building up the characters and their personalities. Flint is an alpha male who wants to take care of Camryn. Camryn is an alpha female who would rather enjoy good than workout. They're complete opposites but that just makes their chemistry HOTTER!!! but of course, not everything comes up roses in LLVs world. Let the drama ensue… loved it.

Great Feel Good Book

I don’t know what I liked more about this book the fact that Carmichael had the big brother I always wanted or that Cameron had the lawman boyfriend that I did have and married. If you like books that share good family relationships and good romances you will enjoy this. Oh, I have a big sister but she was and is a brilliant person and every teacher I ever had would always say the first day of school in their class, Oh, your Connie’s sister!” We came from a smaller county at the time so there was not a lot of variety of schools available. But it was a enjoyable.

Sexy, LOL Hilarious and the best character!

I loved the first book in this series and was super excited to see the second one come out. Flint and Camryn have a love hate relationship and their banter is great! I mean for sure the story line in predictable but sometimes you just need a fun easy listen. Their was a curve ball I didn’t see coming but we got our HEA!

Great narration! Some gaps at the end.

I loved the premise of the story and both Flint and Cameron. They were adorable together! The only thing that keeps me from giving this book a full five stars were some unresolved things with other characters. The book felt like it needed a couple of more chapters to wrap things up. other than that, the story was mostly believable and I enjoyed listening!

Another fun listen

Thoroughly enjoyed this 2nd installment. Jacob Morgan was the BEST bringing the characters to life. Worth the credit and looking forward to the next book in the series.

Cute and funny😆

This is my first time listening to a book by Lani Lynn Vale. I really enjoyed the book and will be looking forward to listening to another one by her. 😊 I liked the humor and cheekiness throughout the book and the pace of the story. It was not super long and kept a reasonable pace.

Camryn Elvis Presley is initially intimidated but attracted to Flint Stone (their names are adorable 😂), the police officer who works as a school resource officer. Flint finds the strict and spunky teacher attractive, but is confused as to why she was scared of him. They were seeing other people - Camryn dating, Flint in a bf/gf relationship - and began to grow a little more comfortable after Camryn is pushed into a gym (owned by Flint and his sister) by her best friend. At this point, Camryn is not dating and Flint broke up with his clingy, arrogant girlfriend. The attraction grows and Flint makes every excuse to touch her in some way during the CrossFit class she took with her friend.

When Flint finds out about Camryn’s childhood fear of dogs due to an unfortunate situation, Camryn grows more comfortable with his K9 partner Duly a little at a time. When they finally start a romantic (or very sexual 😂) relationship, Flint’s ex and her rebound “boyfriend” cause trouble that hurts both Flint and Camryn. However, the couple overcomes the troubles and their love just escalated during the hardships.

The only thing I would have liked more of is Duly and if he played any part in their HEA at the end. It seemed like Duly was put in the story to go with the “idea” of a K9 officer, which is a shame and irritating for me. Lani Lynn Vale probably should have just made Duly a pet of a friend he babysits from time to time rather than as a working dog. I understand the story is about Flint and Camryn, but put some thought into the occupations. Only Camryn’s teaching job was written about smoothly. Do not put in “K9 officer” if it just makes the hero look cool, which is exactly what it felt like in this story. That is the only fault I found about this book.

Overall, the story was very good and will still get another Vale book.

An entertaining, sweet and funny book a la Lani Lynn Vale style!

This is the second book of The Southere Gentlemen series. Where Flint Stone and Cameron Elvis Presley jump thru hoops of hilarious misunderstandings and serious happenings . I liked it much better than the first book of the series. Planning on listening t On my way! The next one. The narrators were great.
