Story
My assignment is simple: trek to a remote English cottage and convince Nathaniel Foster to let me work with him. Too bad he’s a complete and utter jerk. Who slams the door in a poor stranger’s face, leaving them shivering out in the snow? Nathaniel is God’s gift to readers everywhere. My publisher is desperate for his next book, which in turn makes me desperate to help him complete it. So what if he doesn’t want to play nice? I have no choice but to live and work with him in this snow-covered cottage, suffering under his piercing blue stare until it feels like I might combust.

Reviewed: 03-07-25
I've read two RS Grey in a row. Overall, I think I've read three or four more. this one felts a little more intense to me. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it just wasn't what I was expecting. It's a good story. The pacing was a little slower than some of the other books and I think that is what led to its feeling of intensity.
I may read it again sometime see if I have a different response to it. It may just be where I am in my life right now.

Story
Billionaire businessman in need of a fake fiancée... It should be the easiest job ever for an out-of-work actress, right? All I have to do is pose as Grant Caldwell (the Third)’s fiancée for a fancy-pants weekend in the Hamptons. Easy. Wear designer clothing and sip champagne? Don’t mind if I do. Flirting with Grant? It’s so delicious I should be paying him. Nothing can go wrong as long as I can keep my hands off of him. But that’s the hard part. And I do mean hard.

okay story, I didn't care for the narrators
Reviewed: 02-25-25
The story was cute and I enjoyed it. unfortunately, the female narrator sounded like she was 16 years old and it was really hard to listen to intimate scenes in her voice. I think a narrator with a slightly older sounding voice would have been easier to listen to. Overall, I enjoyed the story.

The trigger warnings give you a really good idea of what you're getting yourself into. Make sure that you read / listen to them carefully. You should have checked them out before you purchase this book.
This book was unlike most of the romance I read. I tend to stick with romantic comedy and enemies to lovers romances. it was almost like an episode of Criminal Minds on crack; solely focused on the serial killers and humanizing them. I loved the back and forth between the two main characters and and a glimpse into their twisted, yet normal (?), relationship. I'm looking forward to the next two books in the trilogy.

I feel like huge parts of the story were missing
Reviewed: 03-16-24
I really enjoyed Zachary Weber's portrayal of Finn. I was so amused by those parts of the story. The only book in the Cake series that I've read so far is the first one and it's been so long that I didn't really remember the background.
I'm not sure if it was the editing or the story itself, but there were no breaks between certain scenes. it made it difficult to realize that we were shifting to another time or another place. in fact, there were times when I felt like I had lost huge chunks of the story. I don't think I accidentally skipped chapters, but it was really confusing and I felt like I missed a huge chunk of their relationship.

Story
Word to the wise, never become roommates with a girl you’ve been pining over for the better part of a year. You're probably wondering why I would do such a thing? Well, I didn’t. It was my teammates. The moment they found out Blakely White was single, they took it upon themselves to play cupid and instruct me on how I should win her over. Don't wear a shirt around her. Make her dinner. Lightly touch her shoulder when you say goodbye. I'm so flustered, so overwhelmed, so madly in love with this woman who barely notices me.

First, between Connor Crais and Erin Mallon, I already knew this was going to be an amazing audiobook. Then add a full cast and make it duet narration? Whose dream did I fall into?! The full cast narration was amazing because it brought the banter between Halsey and his friends to life. it made the characters more real. I'm never going to get over Connor's voice and the spicy scenes. Good gravy of America.
This is an amazing book and I'm so glad that I listened to it. I can't wait to listen again!

Gah! I knew when I first read the blurb that I wanted to read this book. I switched back and forth between the ebook and the audiobook, but spent way more time with the audiobook. The story captured my imagination and, I'm not going to lie, this Law and Order fanatic missed some signs about who was behind everything and what was going on. I haven't read a vampire or were book in a really long time (mostly because I was burnt out on them) and this book was just different enough from those other books that I didn't feel like I was reading a copy of another story. Ali Hazelwood is awesome with her witty dialogue and world building. There are some things you figure out from the beginning, but that doesn't stop her from ripping out your heart just when you think everything's going to be okay.
I loved the audiobook and I'm so glad that I purchased it. I'm putting it on my listen again list!

Vanessa Mazur refuses to feel bad for quitting—she knows she’s doing the right thing. The thankless job of personal assistant to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans for her life, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear one more day for a man who could never find it in him to tell her good morning, congratulate her on a job well done, or wish her a happy birthday—even when she was spending it working for him.

This book is one of my all-time favorite Mariana Zapata books. I own the original audio with Callie Dalton narrating. I enjoy Emma Wilder's voice, but I think Callie will always be my Vanessa. Stephen Dexter brought life to Aiden in a way I had only imagined before. I really enjoyed having that new experience.
If you have never read or listened to The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, I think you will really enjoy this slow burn romance. seriously, I've read or listened to it about six times now. it is on my comfort reads list. Take a chance!

Story
It was a heat-of-the-moment agreement scribbled onto the back of a crinkled gas station receipt nine years ago. "If neither of us is married by age 30, we'll marry each other." Haha! So funny! Cash moved to a city 500 miles away, built his billion-dollar empire, and made a name for himself. Me? I stayed in our gossipy hometown, working a simple job and living a simple life. And we never discussed the marriage pact again. But I just turned the big three-oh, and Cash showed up at my door in the middle of a freaking rainstorm.

Reviewed: 06-04-23
I enjoyed this story about Megan and Cash. The side characters, while there are many, are easy to keep track of and have distinct personalities that make me want to learn more about them. there were a couple of parts that started to get frustrating because of the stubbornness of the main characters, but in the end it was a sweet romance and the big gesture at the end was perfect for their relationship.
