Great information!

I found this book very informative! My son was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I found this book helpful. The narrator is a little hard to get used to but overall I would recommend this book!

Lots of details about organs

For me, this was like visiting a desert and finding a couple of oases. I guess I am not the typical reader of a book like this, because I have already read or listened to more than 20 books about diabetes and and healthy eating. For someone just starting out, perhaps this book will be very helpful.

Excellent! A Must Read!

Dr. Taylor gives clear explanations of the causes of diabetes and presents a three step approach for a person to become diabetes free. This book is a must read for anyone struggling with type 2 diabetes.

Excellent source of information

My significant other was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Got this book to find a way to help in any way I can. This is a great resource to understand what is happening in the body and it describes a clear path to get the body back to “normal”, and escape the suffering that comes with this disease. We both listened to the book on our own time and will be putting what we learned into action ASAP.

Reversing Type 2 Diabetes

Dr. Taylor lives in the UK. He works at a diabetes research center. He and his colleagues have discovered through rigorous scientific research that diabetes is caused by a fatty liver and a fatty pancreas. The amount of fat you have under your skin is irrelevant. It is one’s genes that determine how one stores fat on their body. Some people can be obese but not store any fat in the organs. Other people can be quite slender, but store their fat in the organs rather than under the skin. This is sometimes called visceral fat. This is why plenty of obese people never develop diabetes and why many thin people do. Anyone who has been given a diagnosis of type two diabetes or prediabetes has begun to store fat in the liver and pancreas. When the pancreas accumulates enough fat, the beta cells no longer produce insulin. This is the cause of insulin resistance. To reverse it, all must lose weight, even thin people, going back to the way they were before they developed their condition. This book is one of the most exceptional books I have ever read. Dr. Taylor is amazingly kind and understanding. Not only does he explain all the scientific work that went into discovering these things, he lays out a complete program for reversing it. He debunks many popular food myths that have no basis in fact whatsoever. I absolutely loved this book! I highly recommend it to anyone who seriously desires to reverse their condition. This book will give you all the motivation that you need, as well as tell you how to get the medical food that you will need to have during the first two months of the reversal process. The goal is to reduce weight quickly and then to teach people how to keep it off. I recommend giving this book to anyone you know who has type two diabetes. You could be saving their life if you do.

Answered all of my Questions plus some!

As a newly diagnosed diabetic I appreciated the thorough explanation of the condition, treatments and why/how diabetes can be reversible. information is power. I've lost 10 lbs in two weeks and feel very informed compared to other diabetics I've talked to.

Great information and simple

Thank you, Dr. Taylor, for having the courage to state what is seemingly obvious to most. The study he undertook is groundbreaking and very important to global health. Methods are a bit extreme in the short term, but well worth the effort if sustained.

terrible narrator but good info

I had to force myself to finish this audio book. The narrator paused after every 3 words...it...was...torture. This book, with it's great information, could have been finished in half the time.

A little long winded but full of information

Narrator was very long winded, but the scientific evidence is great. Would prefer a better guide as to how to fast and reduce calories. Michael Mosley Fast 800 gives same information. However, this book does talk about maintenance and steps to take.
