A must read...you will thoroughly enjoy

I loved this book. Very well written. It is a beautiful love story mixed with a captivating storyline about a fascinating time in history. A war story also. So it reaches all audiences.

Utterly depressing and filled with unending hopelessness

I honestly do not know what to say. I admire the author’s optimism in thinking the readers would want to hear more of these characters and their hopeless story, but there is nothing about this book that was even slightly enjoyable. Told through a series of letters oddly from several perspectives, readers are dragged through a series of hopeless acts of violence and depravity until the book finally ends…with more violence and hopelessness.

The narrator doesn’t do the book any favors either, being very monotone throughout.

I wanted to like this book, I wanted to support a local author, but please accept my sincere apology…I honestly did not enjoy this at all.
