About this listen

A traitor with stolen information.

Adam Campbell, 33, blacklisted CIA agent, needs to get covert information into the right hands. Alone and on the run, his world suddenly stops when he discovers the identity of the Pegasus operative who is on his tail. Arranging a meeting just to gaze into the eyes of the man he's always loved, Adam is set up and almost killed. Out of resources and nowhere to turn, Adam returns to the only home he's ever known.

An operative who always catches the bad guy.

Dalton Weber, 38, second in command of Pegasus, has a job to do: Stop ex-CIA agent, code name Sphinx, from selling classified information. When Sphinx disappears after Dalton's botched attempt at contact, Dalton takes a break. Going home for the holiday, Dalton finds Adam, the man he'd walked away from years ago.

A surprising encounter.

Imagine Adam's shock when Dalton shows up. Imagine Dalton's disbelief when he finds out the facts about the man who has always owned his heart. When explosions, secrets, and attempted murder hit close to home, Pegasus opens up a lethal dose of ass kicking. Will that be enough to stop the bad guys and give Adam a chance to come clean?

Contains mature themes.

4.5 stars!

I was hooked from the beginning with this book. Dalton and Adam captivated me with their separate storylines but also with them as a second chance couple. I did start this book on audio and the narrator did an amazing job bringing the whole cast to life. I will definitely be continuing with this series!

enjoyed it

📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters, entertaining plot.
I enjoyed Dalton and Adam's story - I liked the way Adam's blacklisted CIA cover was woven into the story. Lethal has all the elements this author writes so well: action, adventure, great character development and a new team of operatives that will do whatever is needed to have each others backs!

🎧 Narrator comment: I enjoyed Declan Winter's narration, he really suits these type of characters, has good cadence, inflections and intonations and it's easy to distinguish the characters from each other. Overall an enjoyable performance and he bought the characters of the book to life

Don’t judge the series on Book 1

A Special Operative is trying to negotiate with a bad guy when the Christmas holiday interrupts them. He goes home to Alaska to see his family for the first time in years. He did not expect to run into his adoptive brother/ ex-boyfriend, who also never returns home. Then, the Operative’s perilous work life shows up at home and puts the brother-boyfriend in danger.

There are some taboos I am okay with. The brother-boyfriend made me cringe; not the right love story for me. The action part of the story was difficult to follow. However, the good news is that book 2 had neither of these problems. I loved book 2.

I listened because of the narrator and will continue the series because I am a fan.

Really enjoyed reading this series.

Looking forward to listening to this series now. These two are a good start for the series. Having to remember who is who and who belongs to someone else one else on another team.
