I "Kystsanatoriet" får vi barnets blik på verden. En verden præget af ensomhed og angst, men også det helt særlige mod, som kun børn har. Det er også en roman om, hvilken betydning det kan få, når forældres religiøse dogmer modsiges af deres handlinger.
