About this listen

Do you know what the hardest thing for a Korean learner is?

Finding proper learning material that they can handle...which is precisely the reason we’ve created this book!

You may have found the best teacher in town, or the most incredible learning app around, but if you don’t put all of that knowledge to practice, you’ll soon forget everything you’ve obtained. This is why being engaged with interesting learning material can be so essential for anybody wishing to learn a new language.

Therefore, in this book, we have compiled 20 easy, compelling, and fun stories that will allow you to expand your vocabulary and give you the tools to improve your grasp of the wonderful Korean language.

How Korean Short Stories for Beginners works:

  • Each chapter possesses a funny, interesting, and/or thought-provoking story based on real-life situations, allowing you to learn a bit more about the Korean culture.
  • Having trouble understanding Hangul? No problem. We provide you with the same story twice - one version fully in Korean and the other version with English translation, allowing you to fully grasp what you are hearing!
  • The summaries follow a synopsis in Korean and in English of what you just heard, both to review the lesson and for you to see if you understood what the tale was about.
  • At the end of those summaries, you will be provided with a list of the most relevant vocabulary from that chapter, as well as slang and sayings that you may not have understood at first glance.
  • Finally, you’ll be provided with a set of tricky questions in Korean, giving you the chance to prove that you learned something in the story. Don’t worry if you don’t know the answer to any, we will provide them immediately after, but no cheating!

We want you to feel comfortable while learning Korean; after all, no language should be a barrier for you to travel around the world and expand your social circles!

So look no further! Pick up your copy of Korean Short Stories for Beginners and level up your Korean language skills right now!

Don't like it.

I don't like this book. There are sentences where the Korean doesn't make sense, sentences where the English translation doesn't make sense, and sentences where the Korean and English focal words are applied correctly but nobody would ever use them in a sentence like that.

Average.

Although there is a lot of material covered in the book, I won't claim it is worthless because I have already found a few phrases where my Korean language partner has pointed out errors.

A fun way to learn the Korean language

The stories told in the audiobook are very interesting and the listener is guided to a more effective learning. The tricky questions asked after each story really help to fixate the contents. If you are starting your language studies, "Korean Short Stories for Beginners" should certainly be on your agenda!

Great content, charming stories

A good audiobook for those wanting to learn Korean but struggle with longer or more complex narratives. Easy to follow, with a nice learning pace. It provides cultural information that will help you build on your Korean knowledge.
I’ve been already practicing Korean with the 2000 Korean words book from Lingo Mastery, and I’ve enjoyed searching for the words I've learned before while listening to the stories. I think it’s important to take your time and listen carefully so you get the maximum benefits.
Questions on comprehension at the end are an engaging approach and help make you certain about what you've listened to. I recommend practicing your listening and reading with the PDF and then listening again to improve your comprehension. The more you focus on listening, the better you’ll retain what you’ve learned.

Fantastic structure

I love the structure of these books by Lingo Mastery and they are a great asset for polyglots like myself. I hope they come out with an intermediate version soon too!
