I already know I love this book, but LMAO

i love this series. I've read it at least 3 times since it came out, so I'm leaving a review at chapter 15 because I can't stop laughing. The male narrator is ace. He used distinct voices for most of the guys which I appreciate. The female narrator....not so much. Her voice is too forceful and coarse for Esme's character, but the absolute worst (and most hilarious) is how she enuciates things and random words for Esme, especially when coming to more - let's call it intimate content. The forced sexy voice and cornographic moaned words are so bad I was torn between laughing and groaning in embarrassment as if I'd said it myself. It's not great. Esme is the more shy and timid of the girls. Perhaps someone with a more airy and gentle voice would've been a better pick. The narrator made her sound whiney and promiscuous, even raunchy, when the author was trying to portray the character as hesitant, unsure, and maybe a touch bashful. The contrast is jarring to say in the least. I didn't get reclusive artist with a needy but broken heart from this narrator. I got preteen mimicking what she thinks adults sound like when they're flirting or being 'sexy'. Less is more as they say.

Personal preference - not enough plot

Performance:
Female narrator did a good job, as did the male narrator. Only thing that could have made it a 5 star for me was dual narration versus duet.

Story:
Take my review with a grain of salt as every person has different tastes/preferences. I tend to prefer heavy plot with spice sprinkled in. This story was much more heavy spice with some plot sprinkled in. Great premise for a story, loved the character building and the relationship growth … but I just wanted more; more angst, more story, just more.

Narration is pretty good, the MMC's voices are greatish from the male narrator(the voice he did for the female POV was funny). The FMC voice by female narrator was good, whiny, but not terrible. The voices of the MMC's by female narrator are good too, and she did an exceptional job at making each MMC's voice distinct from the others.

The spice was actually really 🔥 👌 😍. Tastefully written. BUT there is soooo much spice it actually consumes the entirety of the book.

The Plot? very disappointing. Plz... don't get me wrong, there was so much potential for this book to have an epic storyline, but the author focused more on smut than engaging the reader into a world of fantasy. It is literally all spice and 10-20% Plot. The author doesn't even scratch the surface with anything regarding werewolves, no shifting, no Pack backstory, no insight into the hierarchy of Pack life... NOTHING!

There isn't drama in this story other than the FMC being a very insecure girl who is ironically a jaw- droppingly gorgeous girl with no real dirt in her past. The FMC is the twin to her famous/ "perfect" sister who is an actress who is confident in every way, and also has a kickass rockband Pack bonded to her. Making the FMC feel like she can't compare and is doomed to never find a Pack who wants to bond with her for her, rather than a carbon copy of her twin.

The Plot is literally the FMC searching for a Pack whilst being under the scrutiny of paparazzis and her rigid mother so she doesn't muddy the publics perception of her famous sister... all while, feeling unworthy of any Pack, to then finding a Pack who has to shower her with reassurance of her worthiness until she finds the reassurance enough to believe that she IS worthy of her new Pack. (sorry if that's confusing). & I love a plot with twists and turns, ups and downs, clues and a good amount of spice, BUT there is so much spiciness in this book and nearly zero plot.

This is not a bad book, and the spice was written very tastefully but the book's lack of a plot just wasn't for me. I personally think this book had the potential to be the beginning of an epic series here... but sadly, it just swan-dived into the asphalt. my preference for more plot was earned by reading the following g: lovedthe House of Devils series by Kayla Edwards, Throne of Glass series & ACOTAR by Sara J Maas, BLood and Ash/FLESH and Fire series by Jennifer L Armentrout.... just so you know where my need for more plot comes from....also I listened to LORDS OF PAIN SERIES by Angel Lawson/Samantha Rue.

Mind blown - world building

There was so much with this. And it’s a standalone??? Wow. It was beautifully written and I definitely didn’t want to put it down and didn’t a lot. I loved the performance but also just how it was written. This was the first book by this author I’ve read and I will be reading more.

I’ve had this on my reading list for a while now and I’m super glad I got around to reading it. At first I was confused because there was a heat early on and (trying not to give away any spoilers) after the heat the conversation made it seem like the book would be complete, yet there were still 8+ hours in the book. I shouldn’t have fret because the rest of the book was still great. Low angst and a good omega book overall. Some omegaverse books are like oh scent match there’s no way we can’t be together, and boom! Happily ever after. I liked seeing the build up and the character development.

Loveddddddd this! Highly recommend reading this with the audio. Both narrators are favorites of mine and they never disappoint. The story was very smut filled but the story was wholesome and i loved the chemistry.

The voice actors for this book are amazing. They truly put depth and feeling into their performances. I will be looking forward to more.

epic book

This book made me have a whole range of feelings. It was so well written and the author made this book so relatable. The narrators were amazing and brought out all the exact emotions the characters portrayed. I literally cried so hard with her broken heart. thank you for a wonderful read!! one of the best I've read.

This is worth the credit!!!

This story is absolutely amazing. It is kinda hard to get into at the beginning, but it builds and builds until the end.
