About this listen

Every single thing you want is going to require you to be uncomfortable.

Those words had been shared with her by the one man she didn’t think she could take a chance on. She just didn’t know that he was right, or that he was going to be the one making her uncomfortable.

Nash Wilder Christopherson was the world’s golden boy.

For fifteen years, she watched Nash race from the safety of her phone. Every single race, PR event, ESPN interview—she was there for it. He was the one thing that kept her sane while having to live the life her father forced her to.

That was all he’d ever be to her, though. A face on the other side of the screen.

Until he showed up at her apartment complex, carried her sister down hundreds and hundreds of stairs during a fire, and changed her opinion of him.

Nash Christopherson was mean. With a capital M. And he couldn’t stand her.

***

He thought he had everything under control. Then he met her.

Nash knew from the moment he saw Zip waiting in her apartment, looking panicked, that she was going to damage him. She was going to pull him in, chew him up, and spit him out.

What he didn’t know was just how much damage he could take.

Nearly a year passed as he tried and failed to stay away.

A full year of her smiles, her playful jabs, her teasing, her eyes on him.

Then he got news that changed his life, and she finally took matters into her own hands, forcing herself into his life and pretty much giving him everything he ever wanted.

Everything was great, until it wasn’t. Life smacked him hard, and when the dust settled, she was gone. The only sign that she was ever there was the cracked and bleeding heart, half beating inside his chest, that yearned to hold her one more time.

Loved it!

I really enjoyed this one. The story is tough but doesn't dwell on the sadness. Her family and his family are ridiculously adorable! This is my second book in the series and I could easily follow along and feel like I knew these two. I listened to thus on audio. Samantha Brentmoor and Troy Duran do an amazing job portraying these characters.

Number 6 and better and better

This story was angsty and sad. I learned about a medical condition that I had no idea about well actually two different ones. I have thoroughly enjoyed these stories.

Such joy amid such tragedy

I don't know how Ms Vale continues to write such amazing stories... but I'm grateful that she does.
Throughout this entire series, she addresses death, obsessions, mental illnesses, tragedies, diseases and so many other horrific issues with brutal honesty, humor, laughter and tender grace.
I've cried, then in the next breath I'm laughing out loud!
It is truly my pleasure to read any and all books written by Lani Lynn Vale.
And the narrators for this book were awesome!

Nash and Zip

A humorous, sweet, emotional and heartwarming romance. Nash and Zip are two people who certainly needed to meet, their chemistry is palpable, their banter is witty but the connection they developed was simply beautiful. I enjoyed ever single moment of this endearing story.

Not prepared

I love all things Lani Lynn Vale writes, I was 100% not prepared for this story trying to listen to it at work like it was just another day. I won’t spoil anything but man it was good and I wasn’t prepared for it being over.

The vocal actors(?) were amazing. The female voice was quirky like I would imagine Zip and the male voice gives that nice comforting but still yummy vibe (especially through a headset right in your ear) I loved them both and their characters.

Good job everyone that worked on this and if you haven’t bought a copy go do it! No regrets!!

Great Listen

This book was well worth the wait. I love Zip and her quirky ways. I loved her and Nash together. Lani Lynn Vale is notorious for throwing one for a loop with a death or something in her books, but they are always great! You will not be disappointed with this book or any of Lani Lynn Vale’s books.

Just okay

I love her books but I couldn't really connect to these two for some reason. I just don't think they really connect that much like her other books.
