Charming, Folksy Retelling

Would you listen to Jack, The Beanstalk and Other Tales again? Why?

Yes, there's replay value in these stories. It's fun to revisit the characters over and over.

What did you like best about this story?

The wonder of it all. One of my favorite tales...

Have you listened to any of Rand Whipple’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have seen him perform live for kids, and this is a similar experience.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but it also works to listen in pieces.

Any additional comments?

Really enjoyed it.

Would you consider the audio edition of Jack, The Beanstalk and Other Tales to be better than the print version?

These stories are a lot of fun. We listened to it as a family on a trip and it had a sense of humor that everyone enjoyed. The narrator has a good voice for this kind of story. I didn't read the print version but I think I would miss the narration in the printed book. The narrator has a good accent that fits the story really well.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main character, Jack, of course. He is a little different in each story but he always succeeds.

Which scene was your favorite?

We liked the story Jack and the Varmints, especially when the robbers return to the house.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, we were traveling.

Any additional comments?

Just enjoyed it. I would recommend it as a book that has something for an adult sense of humor as well as a child's.
