Cozy and Exciting

What a lovely book! The relationship development between Aislinn and Hakon was just so satisfying and beautifully written. The end to Jared was VERY satisfying and eased the anxiety from that bit of the plot. And the spice was just *chef's kiss* All in all, a very enjoyable listen - the narrators were spectacular and really brought the characters and the story to life.

Ironing - Aislinn & Hakon

I love this series! The world building, character development, the angst and love the MC’s have for each other. Instead of changing themselves or giving up, they found a way to make it work and make the kingdom happy. I really loved the epilogue and how everything was wrapped up nicely. We got the HEA for Sorcha and Orek even more in this book, as well as Hakon and Aislinn. The narration for this is perfectly spot on.

Cute.

I really loved Halfling, so I was excited to read this. It wasn’t quite as good as the first one, but pretty close. This one is more tense I feel, the first was as light hearted as someone escaping slavers can be. This one has a threat of battle, castle politics which I wasn’t exactly in the mood for.

This is an easy series for cozy fantasy readers. What I really love about this series are the stories are written completely... all the loose ends are tied up by the end of the story, yet there's enough to keep you reading the next in the series.

I really loved the first book in the series and was hopeful for the next one. Unfortunately I found this pretty boring and repetitive and eventually gave up

I really enjoy Wendel's work. I ate up the first book and I was having a great time with this second book! Because I was excited for the Fae character, I looked up the next audiobook it was only then when I realized the odd anatomy /the characters never looking at each other in the covers isn't just an artist fluke/ artist pains but all these covers are in fact AI generated. As a professional illustrator - an illustrator who specializes in character art who also creates book covers- generative Ai has just about nuked my job. It's sad, but not surprising that normal, everyday consumers don't care nor understand how generative Ai affects human artists but I can't in good faith support someone in the same creative space as me, who doesn't either. No matter how much I enjoy their work. The cover art was a huge reason why I even got hooked to this series in the first place! I'm just so disappointed. I hope in the future the author puts some human artists on to do the covers so I can enjoy their work again! It's been fun...
