About this listen

Tracy Whitney is on top of the world. She is young, beautiful, intelligent, and about to marry into wealth and glamour — until, betrayed by her own innocence, she finds herself in prison, framed by a ruthless mafia gang and abandoned by the man she loves. Though beaten and broken, Tracy emerges from her savage ordeal determined to avenge herself. From New Orleans and London to Paris, Madrid, and Amsterdam, Tracy plays for the highest stakes in a deadly game. Only one man — handsome, persuasive, and every bit as daring as Tracy — can challenge her. And only one man, an evil genius whose only hope of salvation is to destroy Tracy, can stop her.

So dissappointing

If tomorrow comes is my all time favorite story penned by Sidney Sheldon. Regrettably this reading by Nancy La Scala is so far below the standards I have come to expect by a book on audible. I didn’t go in blindly, having seen other reviews stating la scala’s problems with accents, and I agree this would have been better if she just read them in straight English, but she has also a talent of butchering names, Silviana Luardi turns into something that sounded like Solvana Laudi, and while the famous painter Tizian is spelled in English Titian, it should be commonly know that he is not pronounced as a derogatory term for the female breast.

The audio book suffers considerably from the choice of reader.

A timeless classic brought to life.

I read this first thirty years ago and it was just as engaging. The performance could have been better, but the story saved it.

The Story Held Its Own!

I read this book probably 30 years ago and I loved it It popped into mind last week so I decided to look for the audio book. I was quite excited to find it. I was very disappointed with the narrator. She started out very monotone and not very good with different voices. The story itself; however, was worth the listening through her. I don't know if she got better as the book went on, or if I just got used to her, but she seemed a little better by the end. I recommend anyone who is looking for a good book with lots of twists and turns to give this a go. Just be patient. The narrator may turn you off but you don't want to miss all those plot twists!

Intriguing

I loved this book. It held my interest and wanting to know what was going to happen next. I loved the way Tracy got her revenge and she also found romance in her journey. This is a must listen to and I'm sure I will listen to it again.

Dreadful accents by reader

Great story, the readers accents are just horrible. Was glad to get to the end of the story.

Great story. Dreadful performance!

The narrator has raw talent but was unbelievably bad in narrative scenes. Additionally she had more mispronounced words than I have ever heard in an audiobook before. For heaven’s sake get this done by a trained talent. Elizabeth Rodgers, January LaVoy, or Alexandra Ralph

Another classic Sheldon masterpiece!

I don’t know why so many reviewers attacked the narrator. I thought she did well. I have no idea if her accent impressions were accurate nor did I care. It didn’t take away from the book at all and I still enjoyed it. The twists and turns the story took kept me on edge and I kept getting surprised. An absolute wonderful book. Highly recommended!

Great story!

Love the style of Sidney Sheldon. I thought the narration was good and the many accents were handled with ease. Looking forward to hearing another book by this author.
