About this listen

Random House presents the audiobook edition of I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella, read by Fiona Hardingham.

The irresistible new standalone from Sophie Kinsella is a story of love, empowerment and an IOU that changes everything . . .

Fixie Farr can’t help herself. Straightening a crooked object, removing a barely-there stain, helping out a friend . . . she just has to put things right. It’s how she got her nickname, after all.

So when a handsome stranger in a coffee shop asks her to watch his laptop for a moment, Fixie not only agrees, she ends up saving it from certain disaster. To thank her, the computer’s owner, Sebastian, scribbles her an IOU – but of course Fixie never intends to call in the favour.

That is, until her teenage crush, Ryan, comes back into her life and needs her help – and Fixie turns to Seb. But things don’t go according to plan, and now Fixie owes Seb: big time.

Soon the pair are caught up in a series of IOUs – from small favours to life-changing debts – and Fixie is torn between the past she’s used to and the future she deserves.

Does she have the courage to fix things for herself and fight for the life, and love, she really wants?

Sweet story

This was just the feel good comedy I needed. And the narrator did a great job.

Great when it gets going

another good book from Sophie Kinsella. narrator was great. I sometimes struggle with audio when the narrators voice sounds the same for all characters but Fiona Hardingham was brilliant and I loved Nicole's voice

Lovely as usual

I couldn't stop listening, the characters are charming and interesting. The plot a little predictable but I enjoyed it as well. Hope in a sequel because I think it would be lovely to hear more from this family.

Love it

As usual Kinsella takes a bunch of frustrating elements and a heroine you want to shake, and turns it all around so that we are rooting for her and for a happy end for all. The secondary characters are really funny and touching. I loved Leila!

Fun Thrilling Frustration

I am not sure how many times I shouted "FFS Fixie! NO! Just get a freaken grip! Please".

However through all the frustration I enjoyed being part of the Farr family for a couple of days. Sophie Kinsella definitely stirred up all sorts of different emotions from anger to compassion to love to hope to wanting to punch a wall,..
Fiona Hardingham made the story. The performance was excellent.

Not Quite There

This is hard. I love Sophie Kinsella. The Shopaholic series is both empowering and the way it embraces quirkiness in a positive light, it’s such a fun ride to join Becky and her adventures. But unlike Becky, Fixie is rather weak and kinda depressing. Her self image is too poor and it’s annoyingly uninspiring. Despite trying so hard to relate or understand her, it’s not possible to do so unfortunately till the end. What a missed opportunity.
