enjoyable & lighthearted

I'm not a huge chick-lit fan, but decided to listen to this book based on other's reviews as well as to try something different from my usual thriller/mystery novel. I wasn't disappointed at all. The narrator is fantastic and did a wonderful job with this novel. The story itself is lighthearted and amusing and completely relatable to the average woman out there. I found myself laughing outloud several times, nervous for the heroine in uncomfortable situations, and sad during the more trying ones. I would definitely recommend this book to others, would listen again, and was so sad when it was over. A great listen during my travels to work and back - I have to admit, I was happy when there was traffic!

Narrator Ruined It For Me

Every heavy, sibilant "s" ... every sharp, staccato, clicking "t" and "k" and "d" ... every glottal "k" ... every popped "p" ... well, they seemed deliberately emphasized, and set my nerves on edge. I found myself anticipating them, to the detriment of the story itself - but soldiered through to the end, anyway.

I realize I'm in the minority - but the narrator was a deal breaker in terms of enjoying this book.

The narrator’s voice sounded too old for the age of the Emma character. The voices of the other characters were fine. I did enjoy the story and I always enjoy the mix of comedy.

Super cute story - funny and relatable. The performance is fantastic and consistent. One of those books that you just can't stop listening to.

Listen to ALONE!

You will laugh out loud and people will try to have you committed. I am so very glad that I listened to this in my car because I laughed at this way too hard!! The performance was amazing, the inflection was spot on, I felt like I was in the actual story. I love Sophie Kinsella and will continue to read and listen to her books.

lighthearted romp

just what I needed as a change from the normal mystery. altho storyline was similar to the Shopaholic Series

this was a lol book from beginning to end
