About this listen

“Little do they know, I can hear and see everything.”

Eighteen-year-old Hale Frodele is presumed braindead from a tragic church bus accident in which he lost his younger brother, Nate.

Little does anyone know—Hale hears and understands everything with crystal clarity.

Hale remembers when his mom died at age 44 of pancreatic cancer and his dad turned his back on God.

Hale understands that the unbeliever his dad remarried whispers bitterly that Hale is "pitiful" and "ruining" her marriage.

Hale knows his father has borrowed a large sum of money from a deranged loan shark named Sebastian and the payback is due in 48 hours.

Hale believes in his best friend Gilbert, who still visits him weekly, prays for his healing, and is beginning to realize something is very wrong in the Frodele household.

Hale is in here...and he has a mind-blowing story to tell.

There was nothing that I didn’t like about this book! I have read many, if not all, of Creston Mapes books. I’ve loved almost every one of them. This one was definitely among one of my favorites! I would recommend this to all!!!

Great young adult read

I wasn’t sure I was going to like this book. Yes it has Christian references. as a Christian, I can say some of us do question one another the way the characters in book do. I truly enjoyed that there was not any foul language or sexual content.

Engrossing & Enjoyabke

I didn’t think a novel with this premise would be an enjoyable read, but it really was! The storyline draws you in and it’s not a downer. It’s intriguing and uplifting , exactly what I was looking for. Narration was great, too!

Sooo predictable

I finished this, due to the fact it was part of my book group. Unfortunately this book is only suited for elementary age students.

Half good

I was intrigued by Hale’s story but it took a turn for the worse when switched to his father’s voice. It was too much, too over the top. The plot became ridiculous. It was almost as if it was written by two different authors.
