About this listen

The world whipped around her in a dizzying funnel of lights and shouts, people in uniforms pressing in from all directions. Noelle sat motionless in the street, barely able to breathe. His little body was too still. Too broken.

Noelle's world shattered that night, like the pieces of headlights scattered across the dark street. There was no rebuilding her life around the grave of her child. Adrift in her grief, Noelle finds herself drawn to an old house as rundown and weary as her spirit. She might not be able to mend her own brokenness, but maybe she can restore this abandoned structure to its former beauty.

Determined, she throws herself into a renovation project with the unexpected help of a local. But she soon learns that her new home comes with a blood-stained history and chilling reputation. When she stumbles across a diary written by a child with a disturbing life and a teenage girl vanishes from the village, clues leave Noelle wondering if her house might somehow be connected. Someone—or something—wants her gone, but she has no intention of leaving without discovering the truth.

Outstanding!

White-knuckle excitement! Faith-based but not syrupy. Excellent read! Can't wait to read the next installment.

Powerful

I absolutely LOVE this author! CC Warrens has a gift for writing about very real situations with such decorum.
Telling a very suspenseful story about girls being abducted and used for human trafficking, she makes the characters come to life and makes you feel their emotions as if you were actually walking in their shoes with faith and hope being at the forefront. This read gives a very real depiction of the fact that we are never really alone no matter how much we feel as though we are.
I’ve loved every book I’ve read by CC but I have to say this is my favorite so far as she deals with the harsh reality of the world we live in today in a very tasteful way.
I was so excited to see this on audiobook and thought the narrator, Whitney Dykhouse did an amazing job.

Excellent book

I found myself snickering aloud, smiling, & a small verbal gasp. I'll be listening again. I wish these reviews had half star capability. I don't give a 5 star easy so I docked the performance. No offense meant.

Creepy. Creepier. Creepiest!

C. C. Warrens is back with a series that starts out by going bump in the night! Firefly Diaries careens from one terrifying floor creaking, nail biting, heart pounding situation to another at speeds worthy of NASCAR. Noelle runs from her grief only to find herself the owner of a house haunted by greed, pain and a surly neighbor just outside what she'd hoped would be a picturesque village. If only that were all that haunts the grounds or the hearts of those she comes in contact with! Whether it's trauma, laughs, Bible truth or the unexpected: both the author and her characters bare it all to bring healing to the world. With a cast of characters that make you both fear and long for small town life, Firefly Diaries will keep you up at night long past the one one you spend reading it!

Another great novel from C.C. Warrens!

I loved the Holly novels but Firefly Diaries was somehow even better! The characters, setting, and storyline were entirely different but just as intriguing and captivating. It had just the right amount of creepiness; enough to keep me on edge but not give me nightmares. I hope there will be more in this series.

The narrator also did a great job with all the different characters, voices, and conveying the emotions of the scenes.

Childlike

The quips and cliches are awful. Its a sugar filled Hallmark mystery, would not recommend…HAD to read it for book club or I would have ditched!!
