Publisher's summary
Interacting with people at work can be one of life’s greatest joys—and greatest frustrations. Some coworkers never trust us to do our jobs, or never respond to requests for information, or waste our time with dozens of unnecessary emails. The cost: our work results and personal sanity.
How can you approach workplace interactions with more empathy and less resentment? How can you become more successful when working with “annoying” or “difficult” coworkers? In How to Work with Anyone, you’ll dive into what psychology, communication, and business can teach you about developing effective, gratifying relationships at work.
Raluca Graebner, an executive coach and expert in interpersonal dynamics, uses real-life examples from clients, colleagues, and herself to help you navigate interpersonal differences and access empathy and compassion. You’ll learn why mindset is the key to any workplace collaboration, how to cultivate trust-filled relationships with coworkers, and how to assert your needs and protect your boundaries. In addition, you’ll build a toolkit to influence effectively and to navigate conflict, as well as to stay centered when triggered by a colleague.
Working with other people starts—and ends—with you. And in that full circle sits this insightful, enriching Audible Original.

Story
While we’ve made progress on social equity, some workplaces still don’t operate in the most inclusive ways. And when bias and discrimination, whether explicit or implicit, go unresolved, they disrupt not just our health and productivity, but that of our entire organization. Story
On the death of France's most glorious king, Louis XIV, in 1715, few people benefited from the shift in power more than the intriguing financial genius from Edinburgh, John Law. Law had proposed to the English monarch that a bank be established to issue paper money with the credit based on the value of land. But Queen Anne was not about to take advice from a gambler and felon. So, in exile in Paris, he convinced the bankrupt court of Louis XV of the value of his idea.

Story
How can poor and weak societies escape poverty traps? Political economists have traditionally offered three answers: "stimulate growth first," "build good institutions first," or "some fortunate nations inherited good institutions that led to growth." Yuen Yuen Ang rejects all three schools of thought and their underlying assumptions: linear causation, a mechanistic worldview, and historical determinism. Instead, she launches a new paradigm grounded in complex adaptive systems, which embraces the reality of interdependence and humanity's capacity to innovate.

Great Book!
It is wonderful book for anyone who is lacking a source which to draw from and provides an alternative to a spiritual connection.
After going through this intense reading/listening/dialogue it provides a wealth of info manage oneself outside a spiritual connection.
All of the recommendations are practical and a good starting point. Nevertheless, it does requires the parallel understanding and partnership from both parties to have significant impact on the journey for improvement.

Rememeber that people have the right to ask for help (don't get upset) but it is also out right to say no.
Its very relevant to our daily interactions whether at work or in personal relationships. Concise, easy to practice guide. I like it that it is short enough, I can complete listening soon enough but I can also come back and re-listen if I want to.
