About this listen

Life is hard. But it gets a whole lot easier when you start to talk it out. In How Am I Doing?, you're invited into a series of conversations with yourself to improve your mental health as you discover your purpose, honor your story, and explore who you want to be.

Dr. Corey Yeager, psychotherapist for the NBA’s Detroit Pistons and most recently featured on Oprah and Prince Harry's The Me You Can't See on Apple TV+, offers you 40 questions to help you raise awareness of your thoughts and emotions and reconnect with who you want to be.

Over the course of these 40 conversations with yourself, you're invited to:

  • Build trust with yourself
  • Consider how past traumas affect your life today
  • Grow a practice of positive self-talk
  • Let go of guilt and regret from your past
  • Develop mental health strategies for what to for moments when you're depressed or anxious
  • Increase your confidence and embrace your emotions

Each of the 40 questions is paired with a short, thoughtful reflection from Dr. Yeager, along with prompts and self-care strategies to help you look at yourself in the mirror and come into alignment with who you want to be.

So join the conversation; nothing is off-limits here. Come check in with yourself and take these small, simple steps to journey toward a more honest and harmonious way of living.

Practical, Simple, Powerful

I’ve read a lot of self help books. And this has been one of the most powerful. That is because it is practical and simple. Many self-help books get lost in wordy and long explanations. This book knows what it wants to say, and says it succinctly. That makes it easier to digest and put in the practice. Highly recommend this book.

Great book!

I saw Dr. Corey on the Jennifer Hudson show and was intrigued by what he was saying and what he was saying about his book enough to check it out and listen to it. His common sense approach to psychology just make alot of sense period. I'll listen again and unpack it more this time and start to do some work on myself where needed using his common sense approaches. I loved that Dr. Corey discusses some of his own vulnerabilities and how he processed them and moved forward in his life. I also loved that he is the one who narrates and reads the book on here. His voice is calm, soothing and easy to listen to. He reads the book like he's having a conversation with the reader. Keep up your great work Doc and keep writing and I'll keep buying!

Learning to understand and love yourself

This book is one of the best I have gotten on this subject. We all can use this book to help us with our daily life struggles. I will using what’s in this book probably every day of the week. On myself and looking at everyone I meet new and old. This will be doing with everyone, because we don’t do this in the country anymore. Look at ourselves, we can’t have a holiday together without an argument erupting. Over things we can’t change!

Good questions in a good narrative

Dr. Corey Yeager has some good insights from his career as a therapist, and his stories drive the points home
