Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. For centuries, the mountain has been used as a metaphor for the big challenges we face, especially ones that seem impossible to overcome. To scale our mountains, we actually have to do the deep internal work of excavating trauma, building resilience, and adjusting how we show up for the climb. Insightful, felt like crying. Will read again on kindle
I’m in therapy, and this book made me feel triggered and defensive at first, because I realized that I was doing multiple things to self sabotage. I recommend buying it on kindle, because there are sometimes where I had to take notes, and I wished I could highlight it.

An Excellent Book At The Right Time
I got to this book at a point in my journey when out of fear, I was about to go back to a way of doing things that was done what familiar to me but not right for me. This book validated my experience so far in my healing and also gave me new language to motivate myself for the next stage of my personal development. The language used in this book has helped me talk myself into being courageous with the unknown.
True power (aka personal power) is when a person who is doing something difficult can say to themselves - “I know this is hard for me. I am going to go slow, give myself time and be patient with myself.” - this is everything for me.
I deeply enjoyed learning how to work with emotion and identifying cognitive distortions. I found myself observing more of my own behavior and finding a new level of distortion in my being to work through. Wow!
The author does an excellent job of creating a book for the reader as opposed to sharing stories about others or their own life. I shouldn’t be surprised as the author is clear in their intent - share truths to enable people to focus on their own life and empower themselves.

Puzzle pieces pudding together
Eye opening. it was a really good book. I also liked her voice. I have a hard time with the simplest things in life in this book. It helps me point out the put everything together. I kept listening to chapters.

Enlightening
I found this book during the toughest times of my life. Whenever I listen to this book I feel like there’s still some hope and there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. The voice of the narrator is comforting and soothing which made the experience outstanding.
This book states realistic facts that are meaningful but we tend to forget them. I’m gonna keep on listening to this book because it makes me feel better. It also, reminds me to be kind to myself and how to handle my emotions and thoughts.

The story is great but the reader kept adding her own words and it really bothered me because I was reading along with the book. The chapters are also off by one. I feel like if you’re reading a book just read directly as you would if you were to read it in your head. She changed a bunch of phrases and sentences.( in my opinion)
The message of the book I loved, definitely would read again but definitely not with the audio

My favorite self help book so far!
I’ve been listening to self help books for the past 6 years and i can’t believe i only now listened to this one. It’s very well laid out, simply put, yet so powerful. I was going through a huge rut and falling into patterns of self sabotage that this book helped me recognize and gave me very direct tools to change. Im so grateful.
