I was never bored... BUT...

This is a tough book to review, because although I was never bored , and although the narrator did a great job , this was collectively the most miserable, angry, and unlikable group of characters I have ever encountered in one story.

The Twist!

The story developes at a decent pace and is not too predictable. The final twist is indeed unexpected and delicious!

Meh ...

It held my interest but was not particularly satisfying. I wouldn't say "don't read it" but will say it's just "okay."

it will def keep you listening! it is about a family...and their problems keep getting more twisted!!! loved it!

Couldn’t put it down!

YIKES! this was really so scared in that these things do happen! my fav narrator made it even better!

Flat

I like to read reviews after I listen or read a book. This time I should have read the reviews and noticed the number of similar reviews saying this book was slow moving and could have been good. There was definitely no need for over 100 chapters! The story would have been so much better with 1/2 the chapters and focusing more on what the villain was doing.

Love this audiobook!

Very suspenseful and kept you listening. I finished it in 2 days, and kept you guessing.

Could have been a great book.

I went into this book hoping that it would be a good read based on the premise but i was wrong.

The story had entirely to much build up and “secrecy” that wasn’t really a secret. From the first couple of chapters you can tell exactly what was happening .

I thought I knew the ending!

This was a really good book! I thought it was a predictable ending but was totally surprised, The story line was sad as it went along and I almost stopped listening but picked up and the ending was completely a surprise.

Good who done it

Troubled teen Ruby, harrased at school, her timid, sweet little sister, their loving but distant mother and the hardworking but. Crooked businessman father all live together in a home filled with turmoil. Our find out in the beginning that the police have been summoned to the home on Christmas Day by a new or hearing gunshots, but you don’t find out until the end what happened. The story flips back from the viewpoint of the police officers first arriving at the homemade and to the characters’s stories unfold. Extremely intricate, although a tinny bit tedious at times. This was a good story with a surprise ending. I recommend it!
