About this listen

The devilish debutante

Miss Rhododendron Mossant has given up on men, love, and, worst of all, herself. Once a flirtatious beauty, the nightmares of her past have frozen her in fear. Ruined and ready to call it quits, all she can hope for is divine intervention.

The angelic vicar

Justin White, Vicar turned Earl, has the looks of an angel but the heart of a rake. He isn't prepared to marry and yet honor won't allow anything less. Which poses something of a problem...because, by God, when it comes to this vixen, a war is waging between his body and his soul.

Scandal's sweet sizzle

She's hopeless, and he's hopelessly devoted. Together, they must conquer the ton, her disgrace, and his empty pockets. With a little deviousness, and a miracle or two, is it possible this devilish match was really made in heaven?

Contains mature themes.

great sories and narration

Very entertaining, however, a bite too wordy at times-and women some what obtuse plus slow learners!

As Always A Wonderful Twist

Love the series Why? Because just as I have figured out the whole plot here comes the twist. It is fast moving, a touch of suspense, and passionate moments. Always with a HEA. I loved the conclusion where we saw the families and their children at play. Oh yes, and Peaches’ offsprings. However although the narrator had a good male and female voices she was terrible on just passages too breathy.

This series is amazing! EACH STORY!

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Rhoda’s story even though her story was the one I was most excited to read. I think it was b/c her and Emily’s were so intertwined. However, Rhoda’s POV of the infamous party that had Emily running to Gretna Green with Blakely was all her own. I equally loved Ro and her Vicar’s love story the same as CeCe’s, Soph’s, and Emily’s stories. Maybe even more because I felt the most connected to Ro’s character; being a tall girly myself!
Annabelle Anders told 4 lovely and different stories of women rushing to what they thought would be love but learned that the real version of love through their relationships with their best friends, was the love that truly stands the test of time and is equally as important as romantic love. I think that was the 5th character of the book, really. The friendships. It even created a brotherhood for their husbands. Just lovely! And the two novellas at the end of the first and last books in the series were chef’s kiss! Who doesn’t love a second or actually in those women’s cases first real chance at love! All the way would recommend and I’m looking forward to re-reading this series

A Surprise Delight

I enjoyed this series, and this book best of all. It is particularly well crafted with unusual turns. The characters are unique. Rhododendron is a minx and a bit more lusty than the typical Regency heroine. Carlisle is a perfect book boyfriend. Nothing rakish or self-absorbed or defensively callous about him. He is always warm, caring, watchful, honest. Salt of the earth. I like how the author gets her hands a little dirty. It’s not the usual stiff propriety of the social set of the era. I loved the friendships between the ladies and the happily ever afters.

The bonus novella is a little tasty treat. Very much welcomed because I wasn’t ready to step out of their world. I’ll look for the following books to become available and can’t wait!

I stopped at Chapter 13.

Much too long and circuitous as far as plot. It just never seemed to find a resolution. It went from one problem to another without really finding anything to care about as far as outcomes were concerned. Except for Justin and Rhodadendron who you ended up liking but not enough to find out what happened to them. Especially with the overeffusive narrator. She was awful.

It was good..

…not as good as the previous books, I felt like I was listening to a different version of the previous book, very redundant. It became tiresome at points.

BUT..! The novella at the end was awesome! I loved it. Sweet Mama got her happily ever after as well.

Disappointed

Rhoda was a character I admired from the other books in the series. She was the calm, mature, rational one. There for a friend and a voice of reason. She was a completely different person in this book. Flighty, scheming, emotional, foolish to the max.
I could scream how many times she wandered off alone when she knew she was in danger. I began to hate her character for her stupidity.
I figured out the twist long before it was revealed. The hero in this book was admirable enough, I guess I felt sorry it got stuck with someone who was such a hot mess.
