Fine story

Smart and interesting. Well written. Interesting and romantic. Intriguing characters with depth. Humor and seriousness used to flesh out the tale.

Really good!

The story is fun. Narrator did a great job. I love her male voice! And her inflections are spot on. Right amount of spice. Just an overall fun romance!

Very appealing characters

I loved the protagonists. Their love story was moving. This story had so much going on that it could have easily been much longer and more detailed. I also love having an epilogue, if the author doesn’t plan to continue their story in another novel. I’ve found that if you don’t like the narrator at first, over time, you become accustomed to their male voice and it sounds normal. Rosalyn Landor is so good, that other narrators have almost been ruined for me, but by the end of this book, the voices I heard fit the character.

Wants to be romantic, but is a little to mechanical

This was not a bad read, but not terribly exciting either—which is sad because the plot had lots of potential for that. I wish the writer had built up the emotional connection of the characters. Instead, much of their conversation was about work. I agree with another reviewer who said the relationship seemed a little one-sided. Chase made all the effort while Minerva didn’t seem to be as much “in love” as he. Good start, but does need some refining.

A pleasure to read a well written and un anachronistic Regency romance novel with well developed characters and a plausible plot.

Who says romance isn't healing

It is rare for me to fall in love with a book this hard. The descriptions of what kind respectful intimacy is like after abuse is so well written here I cried. the story is engaging. the performance is also wonderful.

the mispronunciations

the word "enquiry" occurred very very often. so it is sad that it was mis-pronounced. the narrator said 'enquirrie' which is not British and jarred each time. a pity

Another Goood One!

I’m devouring all of this author’s books. They are such a delightful listen. The narrator did a wonderful job at bringing the story and the character’s to life. I’m on to the next book as soon as I finish writing this review!
