About this listen

Best-selling romance author Jill Marie Landis writes from the heart. Her sexy, warm, compelling novels resonate with readers long after their conclusions. In Heat Wave, California P.I. Kat Vargas has promised herself to steer clear of intimacy ever since her dream life with her first love and fiancé came to a tragic end. One day, an attractive man named Ty Chandler walks into Kat's office desperate to find the child he gave up years ago. So begins a passionate love story of the mending of two broken hearts.©1999 Penelope Lively (P)2005 Recorded Books, LLC. Contemporary Contemporary Romance Romance Heartfelt

Good enough

For romance fluff, this book was easy to listen to and the author made me care about each character. Carol Monda did a great job of reading. No, it's not going to go down in history but as this genre goes, "Heat Wave" was enjoyable and kept my attention. I also liked the fact that the "steamy" scenes got the point across without being too silly or nasty.

You would like this book if you like wimpy men and women who can't seem to make up their minds about relationships. This may appeal to women in their 20's & 30's more than older women.
