Publisher's summary

An original full-length novel set in the Halo universe and based on the New York Times best-selling video game series!

August 2558. Rion Forge was once defined by her relentless quest for hope amidst the refuse and wreckage of a post-Covenant War galaxy - years spent searching for family as much as fortune. But that was before Rion and the crew of her salvager ship Ace of Spades encountered a powerful yet tragic being who forever altered their lives.

This remnant from eons past, when the Forerunners once thrived, brought with it a revelation of ancient machinations and a shocking, brutal history. Unfortunately, the Ace crew also made dire enemies of the Office of Naval Intelligence in the process, with the constant threat of capture and incarceration a very real possibility.

Now with tensions mounting and ONI forces closing in, Rion and her companions commit to this being’s very personal mission, unlocking untold secrets and even deadlier threats that have been hidden away for centuries from an unsuspecting universe....

Great book, great reading.

Tim did a wonderful job with this book and yet again I am thoroughly happy with Kelly gays writing. Managed to make me cry and then laugh within a very short period at the end. Want to hear more of Timothy as a narrator for sure.

Kelly Gay Is Phenomenal

First, I'd like to say that Tim Dadabo is one of the best narrators I've ever heard. Choosing him for this novel is obvious, but I would love to hear more Halo novels narrated by him in the future, regardless of Spark's presence in the novel (or lack thereof.)

Kelly Gay has written an incredible story that gets you hooked from the very beginning. I originally listened to this before having read the previous two stories involving the crew of the Ace of Spades, and while I was missing some context, the story was presented in a clear manner that made it easy to understand. It was so good, in fact, that I bought the previous two novels in order to reread this one with the full context of the characters, and I'm even more in love with Point of Light now than I was before.

Definitely a must-buy if you're a Halo fan, especially if you loved the Forerunner trilogy by Greg Bear.

Tim Dadabo brings the best Spark performance yet!

[minor spoilers]
How can one begin to describe the magnificence that Kelly Gay has penned in her Halo series? Mystical. Mythic. Magnificent. These only scratch the surface.
Rion Forge's and Chakas' story, while not concluded as yet, has brought the legend of the forerunner trilogy into the 2550s; Halo's present time frame. And though we saw a such a small piece of Zeta Halo, all that was shown and told is of such great significance not only to Halo's continuity but also any modern philosopher's thought base that you'd be remiss to miss this book/sub-series. Gay's style is so fitting to the perspectives she covers that the only thing that could make it better is animation accompaniment in the vein of Saddie's Story, a la Halo 3: ODST.
The visualizations this story invokes are like visions directly imprinted from the Domain, and I can't help but feel that the author may have a geas of her own.

Phenomenal and astonishing

Absolutely enthralling. 10/10, do recommend. For anyone that has followed the story thusfar, this book culminates in a way that I never expected and brought tears to my eyes.
As well, Tim Dadabo is a beautiful narrator that breathes life into every character in such a way as to enchant you.

Best Halo novel in a LONG time!

I loved this story through and through. The depth of the characters was astonishing. The plot was so well paced. There was no long stretch in this book, every single chapter left me excited for the next while at the same time not wanting the story to be over. There was nothing to dislike. The story was so well balanced with mystery, wonder, hope, action, suspense, joy, love, sadness, and everything in between! This will be the first Halo book I will want to read again just to experience the charming moments over and over. Most Halo novels out lately have been stale, dry, and watered down with filler descriptions. This is not the case for Point Of Light. The author portrays a genuine enthusiasm to tell this story (and does so beautifully might I add) and I hope for many more like it! No need to even continue the story, although it would be very welcome because I am now in love with the Ace of Spades entire crew... What I mean is, with this kind of writing style Halo fans can be taken anywhere with any characters. It’s amazing and I definitely put this as a MUST READ for Halo fans and general fans of sci-fi! I am very grateful this was written as the Halo universe desperately needed a heart felt spark...

Make sure....(amazing book)

Read the forerunner trilogy and the ace trilogy for the full effect. Other than that, absolutely one of the best halo books out there.
