An alien AI called the System had taken over Earth and transformed his apartment building into a 100-floor dungeon tower of traps, monsters, and loot. Trapped at the top, Lucas and the other residents have just one year to reach the ground floor and escape before the tower self-destructs. That’s his first problem. The second is he slept through the System’s welcome orientation, so a Class was picked for him. Lucas is now a Blood Reaver. A brutal Class based on speed, ferocity, and striking from the shadows.

I was a Hunter, and I honored the Code. For my services to humanity and for leading a "proper" life, I was to be rewarded. A new life after death, and a new world to give me some well-deserved rest. But something went wrong. Once again, I must fight. The Monsters that face me here are far more terrifying than those of my past life. They are cleverer, crueler, more unpredictable. Google it if you don't believe me. My blood has allowed me to join a group of test subjects, eventually becoming the proud owner of an AI neural chip best known as Alisa. My blood has allowed me to be reborn after death: reborn to a new life in a world governed by magic, a world where humans are locked in mortal combat with monsters. Story
Maximo Strident, war veteran and member of local law enforcement, never wanted to enter the dungeon. With promises of wealth beyond his imagination, his squad mates managed to convince him. Max isn’t a Knight, so he has no magical equipment or spells that could help him against monsters. What he does have, however, are the sword forms he learnt at the Blade Academy. These forms are formidable martial arts that make him the match of Level 0 monsters. But Level 99 monsters? He doesn’t stand a chance.

Story
The Wilderlands are said to contain many dangers. On most maps the area remains blank and only the bravest of travelers will venture beneath its canopy. For monsters roam these woods, which made it the perfect place for a legendary swordmaster to disappear from the world for a time and raise a child. For seventeen years Holviti of Yuutan raised Duren in those woods, training him in the sword, hunting the creatures that called it home, but as is the case with all young men, there comes a day when one must leave his fathers home and make their own mark on the world.

Solid conclusion to an excellent trilogy
One of the most difficult things about creating sequels is striking a balance between holding to that which made the previous entry great, while also giving the reader something new and exciting to chew on.
Often these can be at odds, but Pantheon Online does such a good job of laying foundation early on that the twists and surprises mesh well with the existing story, despite really pushing the boundaries. It'll throw things at you that admittedly seem pretty out there, but thanks to the seeds planted earlier, you're surprisingly willing to roll with it.
Each book provided something new while holding to the core spirit of the series, and this one is no different. Perhaps what I appreciate most though is just how tightly this final entry wraps things up, tying up all of the loose ends and providing a genuinely satisfying conclusion, even when it threatens to leave you hanging right to the last second.
Great narrative, lots of excitement, and so many characters that you can't help but love. I whole heartedly recommend this one.
