Long but worthwhile build
Solely I bought this book just because of the giant serpent on the cover of the book.
The beginning of the story for me was long but still well written due to the need to world building and give depth to the characters.
The middle of the story was a great Icarus flying too close to the sun and honestly the pivot leading into the final part of the book was where I said out loud "I really like this story."
I grew curious as to how the book would end and was greatly satisfied with the last 2 chapters of the book tieing the story together.
Tldr: Come for litrpg. Stay for Bloodshed!

Best progression fantasy of the year
This is an amazing book. Amazing VA. Characters are fleshed out and the world is unique in a really cool way with an awesome power system. Our mc is definitely down on his luck but man the way he gains power has got to be the coolest thing ive seen in a prog fantasy in a ling time.

Looking forward to book 2
I'm not typically a fan of books where the main character seems to endlessly suffer, this book very nearly crossed a line that that it would not have recovered from. That being said, I think the stage is set for a long and interesting trip.
