About this listen

Best-selling authors Christopher Hopper and J.N. Chaney return with Gods and Men, book two of the Ruins of the Earth series, what fans call “the best military sci-fi of the year”, and “Galaxy’s Edge meets Expeditionary Force”. Brought to you in audio by none other than award-winning, chart-topping narrator R.C. Bray.

Humans are herded like sheep for the slaughter, and their only hope for survival lies with a team who just left the planet.

Following their successful mission to destroy the slaver ring in New York City, Wic and the members of Phantom Team pass through the Antarctic’s origin ring and find themselves deep in the heart of the Androchidan Empire. But as the scope of the alien specie’s operation becomes apparent, Phantom Team realizes they can’t stand by as humanity is culled into submission. Efforts must be made to slow the enemy’s progress, if not stop it altogether.

Under Wic’s leadership, the team devises a plan to infiltrate and neutralize part of the Androchidan’s operation. Allies are made, and resources are acquired. But when enemy spies find evidence of collusion, it is only a matter for time before the Phantoms’ hopes of thwarting the enemy are dashed.

Will Wic and his elite team of warriors succeed in reversing the tide of the Androchidan invasion? Or will they succumb to the unrelenting power of the most notorious slaver operation in the galaxy?

Much better than book 1

While there are still strong resemblances between Chuck and Skippy, the story/plot and characters are much more evolved than in book 1.

I can't wait for book 3

Story was great. Narration almost great. I struggled with the different way Bray pronounced the name of the alien race between book 1 and 2. And that's mostly because of how big of a deal that was made of it in the first book.
Other than that. I will be continuing this series as it becomes available.

Gods & Men - Excellent 2nd series book

This book takes place entirely on the slaver race's processing planet. The technology is stupendous on a grand scale. The phantom team finds assistance as they fight to save humans from incredible atrocities. Lots of combat action against the slavers and some vicious alien animals. Really enjoyed this audible book. The authors write a great story and RC Bray is great as the narrator. Highly recommend!

Average/"OK" compared to Book 1..but still worth the Credit

The wait time between the audiobook release has been very long compared to most J.N Chaney books. Especially since all six books in the series have been released in print form, for almost a year.

I just re listened to book 1 and 2 and about to start book 3 with it finally being released today. What struck me most so far after the binge listen is.

Each book is defiantly worth the cost of a credit. With run times of 12 + hours of any book done by these two authors. The story will at-least entertain with out feeling rushed. So many genre similar book series that run several book long keep shortening book lengths. With most capping at 10 hours and recently some pushing Novela length at 6-7 hours. A 12 hour plus listen is great. R.C Bray does a amazing job once again which isn't surprising. I sometimes find my next book just because he is it's narrator.

I find it annoying that Chuck is a complete rip off of "Skippy the Magnificent". If you're like me and halfway through an Expeditionary Force book you're tired of Skippy rants. Then Chuck will annoy you as well.

An awesome sequel just as good as the original

This sequel was fantastic. It had me laughing out loud multiple times and it was hard to stop listening. A great addition to the series. Cant wait for the third book. And RC Bray’s bloopers and outtakes at the end are hilarious.

Great story

Gods and Men is the second book picking up where the first left off. Action-packed suspense on every page. The characters are well defined. I know them all well now.

The author has some funny characters and exchanges throughout. This book goes out of this world. The place it winds up is original and scary. I loved this book. I wanted to listen to Gods and Men straight through but life gets in the way. The narration is excellent.

great book

I did really enjoy this series but, I see a lot of characters pulled from other recent books. I find it funny how they all share the qualities of characters across the Sci-fi world. Also anyone else hear the tie-in to another series? I don't want to spoil anything but, it was there.
