About this listen

Kendra Michaels uses her heightened powers of deduction to draw out a serial killer who has not been seen or heard from in over fifteen years.

Chloe and Sloane Morgan were only children when their mother was the second victim of the Bayside Strangler. Now, after spending fifteen years trying to discover his identity, the sisters have suddenly vanished. Were they getting too close to the truth? The police consider their interest in the crime to be just a coincidence and have little motivation to pursue the cold case.

Armed with the box of photos, videos, police reports, and notes gathered by the sisters over the years—plus the extraordinary senses from being blind before recovering her sight via a revolutionary surgical procedure—Kendra follows the sisters’ trail of clues. Little does she realize that her search is about to unleash a long-dormant killer on San Diego. With help from government agent-for-hire Adam Lynch, Kendra must race to discover the identity of an infamous killer, not only to save the lives of the two sisters but also untold others.

Short but decent

This book was shorter than the other Kendra Michaels and I felt a little cheated. However, the plot was decent and I was refreshing to see Kendra not fight her feelings for Adam so much. It is silly to keep turning your back on that type of love out of fear of losing yourself in the relationship. Adam has been way more patient with her nonsense than many would have been. Kendra had a couple of unusual YSTL moments which is not like her. The end was relatively happy and I love happy endings, realistic or not. Narrator is consistently good.

Another Winner

Kendra Michaels is one of my favorite characters. Watching her take the cops and FBI to school is always so fascinating! Can’t wait for the next book. Elisabeth Rogers is the perfect voice for these books.

Almost really good

I like the storyline but something about this narrator put a damper on things for me. She infects too much of a mushy, weepy tone into the narration and it skews the plot for me.

Better and better!

Iris and Roy make a great combo in this series. The only thing I can think of that would make their audio work even more enjoyable would be for Rodgers interpretation of Kendra to be less “excitable,” more “cool and collected.” After all… this isn’t Kendra’s first rodeo!

I love this series and waited patiently for this book to come out! The story is great as usual, I’m just ready for Kendra to give into Lynch!

Can’t take it anymore

The story, the mystery itself, was good. But the relationship between Kendra and Lynch is just gone on too long. It is just too ridiculous. At one point in the story Kendra said she was a bitch and I have to agree with her. The way she treats Lynch just doesn’t make sense. One moment when she’s thinking to herself, she says how much he means to her and how much she cares about him but the way she talks to him and treats him is bad. This has been going on and on and on. I keep hoping that this will be the book that it’ll change. But it doesn’t. I do like a good mystery and this caustic relationship is just distracting from the mystery itself. It’s time to fish or cut bait. Kendra doesn’t have to give up her freedom, independence and her strong personality. He is a black ops agent of course he’s going to do something better than she can.

If things don’t change, I definitely think I can no longer read these books.
