About this listen

Could you survive the collapse?

Two weeks after the virus outbreak, the trouble is just beginning. Nick, Jessa, and the rest of the group defended their home against a vicious attack. But the worst is yet to come. When Nick is forced to venture into new territory, he discovers just how deadly the world is now. With modern society in ruins, criminal elements are organizing and trying to take control.

Could you find the courage you need?

Matt Redmond is the only survivor in his town. He needs to get out if he wants to stay alive. A glimmer of hope lies in New Mexico, 800 miles away. It's a dangerous journey that would test anyone's bravery. And Matt just turned 13.

Law and order are long gone.

An alliance brings hope, but not even new friends can help Nick and the others when disaster strikes. With members of the group scattered, can they find their way back to each other? In this dangerous new world, how far will they go for their makeshift family?

Fight to Live is book two in a post-apocalyptic thriller series about people pushing past their limits as they try to survive the end of the world.

Second installment is better.

The saga continues after Nick, Jessa and crew successfully defend their home against raiders. Even with that victory there is little time for rest. Nick forms an alliance with the Kiowa community of Los Gatos. The friendship brings a bounty of good will, happiness and trade goods. Jessa went off on her own quest to look for her friend Chris in Colorado. In another corner of the country, the virus continues to take victims and Matt Redmond finds himself all alone. Matt had just become a teenager, now he must find the courage to travel 800 miles to a lodge in New Mexico where he might find family and safety. This second installment is better in many ways than the previous one. The characters, story and narration are all well done. I look forward to the next volume. Good listen, Good Characters, Good Narrator

I didn't listen to the first book, but I knew what happened without doing so. To be honest, I like those kind of books that you don't have to listen to all in the series.

I found this a good listen, although a bit predictable. You knew what was next or at least an idea of what was coming. This didn't interrupt my listening or make me want to stop it.

The characters were very well developed as well visual through the narrator. I love this narrator as well. He does a great job of separating characters.

I'm looking forward for the third book. This was great listen.

Predictable post-apocalyptic fiction

This is a continuation of the story begun in Fight to Survive. A few new members join the original group from Nick's lodge. These characters are intriguing, and although their adventures are generally predictable for the genre, The story is engaging.

Andrew Tell delivers a very satisfactory performance. His pacing is appropriate and his character voices are distinct enough to easily follow dialog.

A solid continuation of the series

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

As with the first book, the overall premise is nothing new, a post apocalyptic survival story. I thought this book was even a little better than the first one, with some new characters being introduced. I will definitely be on the lookout for more in this series.

A great follow-up post apocalyptic audiobook!

I definitely recommend listening to the first of the series so you don't get lost, but you won't be disappointed. The author does a great job of character and storyline development. I think more details of the journeys to Colorado could have been added, but I understand the author's need to condense the story to fit certain requirements.

The narrator does a wonderful job providing context and bringing the characters to life. Overall it's an enjoyable series that I recommend to anyone that's into post apocalyptic stories.

Excellent Title for the book.

I enjoyed this book as much as the first. It pretty much picked up right after the first ended.
There are alot of new characters are introduced in this book. I adored Matt. You can't help but feel from him the moment you meet him.
This is definitely a book that stands up to its title. They really do have to fight to stay alive.
This book is not short on action. It seems there is a gang trying to take over Colorado, and they think that everybody should bow down to them; or they will pay the price.

Andrew Tell again does a fabulous job narrating this book.

I've voluntary asked for this copy of this book, and left my honest review on it.

Nothing new

What did you like best about Fight to Live: A Post-Apocalyptic Thriller? What did you like least?

There's nothing inherently bad in this book. Just that it doesn't have anything new that many other post-apocalyptic books haven't explored already. There's nothing new here. The characters are more or less your typical fares, they follow predictable paths and face similar struggles. When they have any decision to make, you know which way the story is heading. You can tune out for a minutes and still figure out how the story reached here.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

See above.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

There's no complaint about the narration. Andrew Tell did good enough job of telling the age old tale.

Did Fight to Live: A Post-Apocalyptic Thriller inspire you to do anything?

Move on to the next book in my list.
