Publisher's summary

Winter has come to the world, and still, Erin Solstice has no idea how she came to be an [Innkeeper].

Erin is running an inn outside the city of Liscor, but she’s no longer alone. Ryoka Griffin, the City Runner, has business in the south of Izril; she’s out on a dangerous delivery of her own. Yet while both young women have finally found their calling, more and more people are beginning to realize that these visitors from Earth don’t belong here.
Erin must find new guests and old for her inn while expanding her tentative business. Staying safe would also be nice. At the same time, some pesky creatures have arrived to herald winter, and they bring mischief and danger unlike anything she’s ever seen. But as more and more children of Earth begin appearing, the cold of winter is the least of Erin’s worries.

An instant favorite

I couldn’t wait for book 2 after I bought the first one and it didn’t disappoint. It is an instant favorite along with the first book in the series.
I love all the characters, even the ones I despise, as they are so well written and so real that they jump out of the page fully formed in the readers/listeners mind.
The narrator does a bang up job, bringing them all to life, and has a broad spectrum of voices for male and female characters of all races.
Now I have to wait forever for book 3

A brilliant world and an outstanding story teller.

I am so sad that I finished this so quickly. Thank you Pirate Ava for the amazing and fantastical world YOU HAVE BUILT. Andrea Parsneau...pure brilliance. Thank you for the countless hours you must have spent recording this massive story. The characters are so well thought out and you sometimes can change back and forth between liking someone and not liking them several times in the same listening session. I wish it was 100 more hours.

Holy cow, what a great story

The book picks up seamlessly from where the first left off....duh.

This is one of those books you watch how much time you have left and regret that you're that much closer to the end.

I envy those of you that get to experience this story for the first time. It really is the best piece of LitRpg I've gotten my hands on. I've listened to hundreds of them and this series is so fresh and worth every second of time to listen. Plus it's narrated by Andrea.

Amazing

Loved this book, hated the beginning. I use fantasy to dive into another world, so please keep politics out of it. Merge our worlds another way, please.

HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE BOOK

Goodness, I can’t explain how much I LOVE THIS. It’s such an amazing story, don’t think twice and BUY THIS BOOK. 40 hours? 60 hours? You’re thinking wow that’s really long.. but nope, you’ll wish it went on forever! I finished the first two books, did some research, and found out PirateAba updates a new chapter every week on her online site! I’m on the 5th book! Granted it hasn’t been made into an audiobook yet but trust me you’ll FIND THE TIME to read it. You’ll laugh and cry! The characters develop is out of this world and you’ll care deeply about them. I literally cannot rave enough! Also if you’re turned off by these “politics” comments ignore them. This is not about politics at all. The most I can think is that the main character Erin has to follow the rules of the demon city she lives near. BUY THIS BOOK!

This is my FAVORITE series of books right now!

If you love scifi and a great storytelling and great voice acting, THIS IS THE SERIES FOR YOU! I find myself forgetting that the voice actor is one person and she is by far the most talented one I've heard. But the story is so great too!! It's like stepping into another universe! And each character is so unique that I must say the writer has a great gift of really making you sense that these are all completely different characters thrown into an amazing set of circumstances. From book one I haven't been able to stop listening. I hope this gets made into a tv series one day, it's THAT GOOD. Do yourself a favor and READ/LISTEN TO THIS SERIES!

If you can put up with quirks - you'll love this

More of the same as book 1.   The rambling adventures of young Americans Erin and Ryoka Griffin (and others) trapped in a Fantasy Video Game World.  With many story tangents, at times unedited (60 hrs long) its still a strangely addictive story.  The characters are very realistic, flawed, at times extremely dislikable and irritating with their own personal and deep psychological issues.   Yet all of their flaws make them more human and real as a whole. I suppose the same could be said about the story telling style.   If you can put up with the quirks, then you'll love this Epic Story.
