About this listen
If You’re Expecting a Revolution, Expect Disappointment
The world wants to sell us the idea that all we need to succeed is one lucky event. One lucky event and your dreams come true, your problems are forever solved, and everything is perfect.
But life doesn’t work that way. Those who expect an overnight revolution in their lives end up right back where they started - bitter and angry at the merciless world that placed so many obstacles on their path to a better life.
If you wish to make your dreams come true, instead of hoping for a revolution, prepare for an evolution - an arduous but fruitful everyday process of self-improvement. And for that, Everyday Evolution, a new release by best-selling author Martin Meadows, has you covered.
Here are some of the things you’ll learn from this book:
- When dreaming is dangerous and how dreaming strategically can help you accomplish your goals rather than sabotage them.
- Five traps that stem from fixating on events which can jeopardize your goals and set you up for failure.
- An overlooked, crucial step that will help you overcome plateaus and enjoy sustainable, long-term success.
- Five tips to stay determined over the long term, including a morbid strategy inspired by Japanese movies and a method based on the findings of a relationships expert.
- Six ways to improve yourself daily, including focusing on various important areas of your life that you might have not considered before.
Don’t fall victim to the trap of event-obsessed thinking. Learn how to cultivate and enjoy a process-oriented outlook for consistent progress towards your goals. Buy the book now and begin a new chapter in your life.

The hard truth is that it’s easy to listen to self-help, but difficult to implement it in real life. First you need to figure out what exactly to listen to, and then you need to know what exactly to do with the advice you find inside.

Have you ever wondered what separates people who think bigger from people who set their bars low? What makes one person accept low standards and another person constantly raise them? What drives a person who's optimizing every single aspect of her life, and what causes another person to maintain the status quo? I found this topic so fascinating, I decided to find out the answer for myself and write a book about it.

Story
Making a permanent change often feels outright impossible. Making one attempt after another, you fail and continue to fail, and it seems there's no way to make the change stick for longer than a couple of weeks. Perhaps… except some people somehow manage to stick to their resolutions in the long term and their lives do get better - permanently. What makes the difference between those superheroes and “mere mortals”? More importantly, can the “mortals” acquire those superpowers, or should they accept that they'll never be able to permanently change their lives?

A short but helpful reminder
A great little book. While shorter than his other books, it’s got many helpful tips and tricks. Actionable and practical, it’s what I have come to expect from Martin Meadows. I have already listened to it 3 times and will do so many more. Well done!

Quick Read/Listen with Valuable Tips
I received a free Audible copy of 'Everyday Evolution' in exchange for an honest review and I am glad that I took Martin up on his offer. This is a short book filled with valuable information that explains how goals, dreams and life in general are a result of an everyday process. Each chapter is filled with examples that resonate with the reader and offers suggestions for improving your life by making changes. Martin does not sugar coat things with unrealistic expectations. He tells it like it is which is refreshing in today's self help market. He doesn't necessarily say what we want to hear, but tells us what we need to hear.

If you want good ideas for organizing your life...
This is a simple book but at the same time complete and mature. Mr Meadows evolved very well in his field of expertise and here he brings ,as usual, practical advice and good experience.
For me the most interesting part was when he advise with some examples to not share your ideas or objectives without a previous action. Wasting your energy talking about an idea and never doing anything is going to affect how others see you in the end. The narrator is good with a correct pronunciation . Check it out!

Kind of closes the loop on Martin’s books
I’ve been a fan of Martin’s work for years now & I always buy his books on launch week, as he offers a discounted price for the first 7 days. I got the Everyday Evolution kindle version when it first came out & read it in 2 sittings. It’s like most of his books, pretty short, focused and broken up into distinct chapters that build on each other. When he ran a promotion offering a free copy of the audiobook in echinacea for a review, I jumped on it. So here’s the review.
Martin mentioned that he will not be publishing any more books (at least in the short term) & this book kind of feels like that. Whereas most of his books are written around how to become more disciplined in a certain topic/ area of life, this one focuses more on how to make sure to continue to get better, in general, over time. I liked it a lot, although I think it’s more general than some of his previous books, so if you are looking to get better in a specific area, one of his other books might serve you better. If you are looking for a more general, holistic book on mow to improve in general, this book is probably the one to start with.
Lots of good info packed in here. My favorite tip was in setting goals. I’m probably not doing it justice here, but he talks about setting goals that you actually have control over. Which sounds obvious, but reading the examples, it’s obvious how often we do the opposite. He gave an example of a woman who wants to make $5,000 per month. While it sounds like an achievable goal, the reality is that there are may things outside her control that might prevent her from hitting it, a better goal would be to focus on “specific actions that increase her odds of reaching the outcome, such as creating engaging content.” I think that makes a lot of sense, and it a really good takeaway. You could be doing everything right and still not hit the first goal, through no fault of your own, but by focusing on the actions, you improve your odds while working on things you can control.
Overall, I like both the book and the audiobook, it I feel like this one is slightly better in kindle format. I’m not a big fan of the narrator, but that’s a personal preference. Listen to the sample & if you like him you’ll be fine with it. I think the audio is a good companion, even if you buy the kindle version, as it’s a quick listen and helps to reinforce what you’ve read when you need a boost.

The Importance of Self-Care
* I received a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest opinion.*
This book actually helped me to realized and see how come so many of my goals and dreams did not come true after I proclaimed them or shared them with family and friends. I NEVER knew the dangers of DREAMING but I do now. I can honestly see how I was receiving gratification from just saying repeatedly over and over what my dream was, as if I had already accomplished it, which prevented me from accomplishing it. I am going to try some techniques learned via this audio and re-evaluate and actually be successful this go around. Another thing that I used to frown upon, was taking time for myself. I always felt that if I wasn't doing something productive or toward a goal than I wasn't being successful and hearing how I need to practice more self-care and invest more time into myself, have me thinking abut doing that more and researching on more effective ways to do that for me that would bring me more joy and pleasure. Another important key note that I learned from this book is to have things in place or activities that I can do that will counteract any negative feedback I may receive and I never thought about that. There are so many positive key points mentioned in this book, I definitely would recommend reading it or listening to it!

Make change that is sustainable for the long run
The ideas presented by the author here are for people who are serious at improving their lives. A lot of self-help books and gurus out there offer the easy stuff, though they may work in the short run, they're not usually sustainable or good for us in the long term. I feel that if taken to heart and action is employed, the author's advice will help us evolve no matter what stage we are into our lives. And it's the kind of change that can make us feel fulffilled because it's for the long run.
