Publisher's summary

New opera enthusiasts and seasoned aficionados alike will delight in Dale Harris' witty and insightful analyses of La Traviata, Carmen, The Magic Flute, and La Boheme. Hard to guess the audience

I am more than just familiar with all of the operas that he lectures on. And "lecture" is the operative word. This would bore anyone who doesn't already love the operas. Anyone who already is familiar with the operas and their settings would find it boring, and uninteresting. Too little insight, too many dry facts that do not add richness to the experience of the music, the production or the plot. I cannot guess what class of "reader" this would appeal to me, but I'm definitely not it.
