Neat

Thought the whole thing was a good time, no super notable emotional payoffs save one that's been back burnered for the whole book.

Great story

This was a great first-in-series book, with hopefully many more sequels to come. Good character development, suspense and fun monster times which was well narrated with great individual voice inflections!

Great military monster hunter book

Owning over 1k audible titles mostly in fantasy & fiction, I do have to say this is one of my favorite monster hunter books. worth the 1 credit or full price.

Layers

Very intriguing story. Gives you just enough but also let's you know that there's a LOT MORE to come. I love the character and world building. Highly anticipating the next in the series.

Reads like Jack Reacher but with monsters

Be warned, the cover art belies the slow pace of this book. Lots and lots of people talking. The pace does pick up finally in the third act, however. Hopefully this story is done with the “onboarding” of the main character and reader alike and can now move at an overall faster pace.

Story a complete surprise, loved it! Can’t wait for next book. Jay Snyder is fantastic, Gray Man series is a FAV!

pretty good overall.

this book starts with an engagement that sticks with you the length of the book. it is what's most memorable from the entirety of the story. there is a lot of story building after the beginning setup which tends to drag on a bit. even with the slow pacing of the book throughout I ended up enjoying the story and looking forward to seeing where the author takes it in book two.

That was more fun than stuffing werewolves in a barrel

I’ve read a bunch of Devon C Ford and rate this among his best! This is a bit Urban Fantasy with a secret fantasy realm existing in the shadows because humanity couldn’t handle if werewolves were real. Suspended disbelief: check.
Next up: characters.
His pov characters are all realistic and pleasant to follow. The hero is a bit gruff, but he’s understandable and I’m rooting for him in this new endeavor.
The audio sounded great! Jay strikes a great tone to match the characters and the action to come.

Exciting, couldn't put the book down

Once again Jay Synder does an excellent job. Great book can't wait for book 2!

Thrilling first in a new series!

One of the best authors in the UK. He comes up with some really cool ideas, and executes them all. From space opera, to post apocalyptic, to this storyline, which reminded me of Gears of War. Great characters, and great action make Devon Ford one of my go to authors. This is a hidden gem of his, and I hope it explodes!
