About this listen

It's back-to-school time for the world's only Eclipse Core, and the School of Swords and Serpents has never been deadlier.

Fresh off his undefeated tour as the School Champion in the Five Dragons Challenge, Jace Warin is headed back to class as the most popular student on campus. No longer an outcast, Jace struggles to master the amazing abilities at his disposal as he is drawn deeper and deeper into the conspiracies that threaten to tear Empyreal society to shreds.

As unknown enemies close in from every side, Jace must conquer what may be the darkest force of all - the deadly power in his own core.

Eclipse Core is the second installment in the best-selling School of Swords and Serpents series, a thrilling tale of conspiracies, cultivation mastery, and inner strength.

Super Sequel

I’m really enjoying the rate that the MC is progressing. There are plenty of cool fights in this book which helps expose a very well thought out cultivation system. The narrator does a fantastic job.

The series continues to improve

The development of the MC's abilities was interesting. My only critique is that the MC needs to actually listen to people, including his enemies, so he can get a better understanding of the big picture. He spends the whole book looking for answers but often rejects opportunities to gain information.

Much better than book 1

Man, did I enjoy this book much more than the first one. But, my one major complaint is, how many times can you say Eclipse Core in a single paragraph. we get it, he has a dark side and an Eclipse core. I almost feel like the author was writing a paper for school and had to reach a word count.

stubborn MC does silly stuff and is a little OP

overall I enjoyed this book. it's a little potter-esk, but feel more grown up and different. MC is stubborn, stupid, and overpowered, but lovable enough to get behind. if you like light cultivation, decent fighting and a little romance/drama give it a go.

good

I can't understand the self loathing. plus how can their be trust with the teachers after they treated him so bad. However I still enjoyed the story. I has promise but, he will have to change his way of thinking soon.

Don't get this

I loved the first book and I get you can't go back to the underdog so they have to continue but they made to many mistakes and once i got to the chapter the kiss I dam near threw my phone early in the book it explains that he has to control his core and then is asked to do secret missions they need a scalpel and our mc is a hammer that with the kiss which is a spoiler so I won't talk about it but I just can't with this book

Did the first book not happen?

It feels like the first book didn't happen. MC trusts the Elders too easily, but whats worst is he agrees because a woman (who tried to kill him) now hints at a romantic interest. Which is annoying since he clearly has feelings for Clem, but whats more annoying is the fact he refuses to talk with her about his problems. At least for half the book so far.
