About this listen

Orphaned at the age of seven and adopted by Indians, Jami Ian MacCallister grew into a man more at ease in the wilderness than among men. But when the westward strike drove him across the Arkansas Territory into Texas, he finally found himself a home — in the middle of a bloody war.

Texans like Jim Bowie and Sam Houston were waging a fierce struggle against Santa Ana’s Mexican army and Jami MacCallister made the perfect scout for the fledgling volunteer force. What lay ahead of them was a place called the Alamo, 13 days of blood dust and courage and a battle that would become an undying legend of the American West....

workable

had to adjust the right / left balance to keep the music and effects from drowning out the story.

The Eagles

My best friend, RIP, told me years ago to listen to these books especially by the performers and style is much better than most simply audio books.

Time passed, I forgot about it. I’ve started listening to more audiobooks while I drive. I thought 3 books for a bundle why not.

I already read the books, but they was years ago and hard to find now too. So wanted to revisit the series. I had forgotten where I left off reading it. But decided to reset listening to this audiobook.

This is so well written and preformed too. I cannot wait until next months credit to continue. Which I may before if I have a good week too.

The first book sets up the story. Jamie McAlister and Kate. Starting out kidnapped then the Alamo, loved the aspect of the civil war in the 3rd book too. The 2nd is a bridge book but all done so well.

I don’t want to give away too much of the plot. But if you like westerns and never read Willam and JA Johstone. Give this series a chance. You’ll be hooked in no time.

Very Enjoyable

It’s a good story and will keep you entertained. It does tend to repeat and can be predictable at times but overall it was pretty good.

Don't mess with Jaime McAlister

I really enjoyed these books. It was nice to get to know more about Preacher and the mountain men and the introduction to Smoke Jensen. I liked his wife Kate and enjoyed their ever growing family and loyal friends.

Eagle's

This is a Three Book Box set. It's worth buying it especially since your getting Three Books. These three is about Jamie. It starts when Jamie is young and at the end of book Three he's old. This is a good start to this series. I think it goes to Falcon next. I'll definitely continue this series and see how it continues. There is a lot of action in these first three books and a good story line. This is a movie in your mind style of books with several narrators. I prefer this style of Books now. Listened to the stories on my commute to work.

Couldn’t wait to get back in the car and hear the story. Great flow, easy to listen and flow. I absolutely enjoyed every second.

not impressed with acting or reading

l didn't like the way you changed two characters. The big Indian never spoke words in all the other books. you made Preacher sound like a blithering idiot which he never did in the books book was good but did not like the presentation. I think it was below Johnstone's standards

not what I expected.

To much history woven into story. It couldn't hold my interest like the later books in the series which I enjoyed very much. I only made it about a third of the way thru the book. It may be a great listen for you.
