She’s off-limits, but he’s never been good at following the rules.

Discover the sizzling small-town brother’s best friend romance that went viral on TikTok—now a special edition with an exclusive Q&A with the author!

“A sweet slow burn . . . sunshine in written form.”—
USA Today bestselling author Lana Ferguson

For the first time in her life, Clementine “Emmy” Ryder has no idea what she’s doing. She’s accomplished everything on her to-do list. She left her small hometown of Meadowlark, Wyoming; went to college; and made a career for herself by doing her favorite thing: riding horses. But after an accident makes it impossible for her to get back into the saddle, she has no choice but to return to the hometown she always wanted to escape.

Luke Brooks is Meadowlark’s most notorious bad boy, bar owner, and bachelor. He’s also the unofficial fifth member of the Ryder family. As Emmy’s older brother’s best friend, Luke spent most of his childhood antagonizing her. It’s been years since he’s seen her, but when she walks into his bar and back into his life, he can’t take his eyes off her. Despite his better judgment, he wants to do a whole lot more than just look at her.

Emmy’s got too much on her mind to think about romance. And Luke knows he should stay away from his best friend’s younger sister. But what if Luke is just what Emmy needs to get her spark back? Or will they both go up in flames?

Sweet Story

Done and Dusted is a brother's best friend with steam.. These characters have chemistry, and I really enjoyed the story.

The audio was really good and an easy listen. If you are looking for a palate cleanser, this is a good one to listen to. The narrators did a wonderful job with this story.

Luke Brooks & Emmy Ryder

Emmy Ryder! I loved how real she felt in this story! Luke Brooks; I can totally see a grown Tim Riggins with his life together. The way he helped her get over her fear for riding and just created this love story! I am a sucker for this and to add a cowboy was the cherry on top.

Ok and enjoyable, not my favorite

This was ok, I enjoyed it but not my favorite. I was hopping her accident trauma was going to go deeper, maybe talk it with the fam, a therapist? Also, the dating with the brother’s best friend didn’t seem such a big deal to me but somehow author made it look like it was huge problem! bigger than what it really was.

Dust my heart with swoony romance.

A small town, cowboy romance that’s a little bit sweet and little bit spicy. Filled with all the swoony moments that will make your heart beat a little faster.

Sweet and Spicy

This audiobook lived up to expectations and brought the characters to life. I loved the story of how Emmy and Luke found each other. Like is book boyfriend material and the way he loves Emmy is so endearing.

I loved Emmy & Luke!

This book was perfection! I loved the characters and their journey together. Definitely something I would reread and relisten to. I read the book first and fell in love with Emmy & Luke, then listened to the audiobook as soon as it came out and fell in love all over again!
The audio casting was spot on! It's like Emmy & Luke were made especially for Stella and Aaron to play!

It’s fine

This book isn’t bad, but it’s the type of book spends a large amount of time telling you what happens, rather than let you experience what happens, if that makes sense. Too much of the story is introspective chatter in the main characters head *yawn*. The whole taboo orders brother’s best friend - was there but just meh in terms of execution. Predictable. Not bad, but also not great.

She has ADHD

That stood out the most. Haven’t read any books where adhd is just part of her life and is not exaggerated. Loved the love story. Did not feel rushed at all. Some sex scenes were a bit corny but I enjoyed it.
