Hurt people hurt people.

Say there was a novel in which Holden Caulfield was an alcoholic and Lolita was a photographer's assistant, and somehow they met in Bright Lights, Big City. He's blinded by love. She by ambition.

Diary of an Oxygen Thief is an honest, hilarious, and heartrending novel but, above all, a very realistic account of what we do to each other and what we allow to have done to us.

I am relieved to admit that I don't have as much in common with the author as I expected to. It's definitely thought provoking, but it requires empathy for someone that most people would strongly dislike and/or disagree with morally. Seems like the general consensus in other reviews is a lack of sympathy for the author. I feel like it didn't truly have a conclusion, though I guess that's by design. Anyways, it's a short read or listen. I recommend it as a means of insight.

Because I think I wrote this in another reality?

We're all rooting for us, Brother.

I am unsettled

I hated the main character—truly, deeply—but I couldn’t stop reading. Diary of an Oxygen Thief is brutally honest, raw, and unapologetically toxic in a way that makes you cringe and nod at the same time. The narrator is selfish, manipulative, and emotionally damaged… yet somehow manages to hold up a painfully accurate mirror to parts of human insecurity and desire. The writing is minimal but impactful. It’s not a feel-good book, but it is real. Uncomfortably real.

The book would've gotten a 5 star rating if i didn't get lost at times on what the author was depicting imagery wise

INTRIGUING

Try not to listen to this at work unless you feel comfortable around those people . Don’t listen to this in the car cause you’ll want to hear every word from his accent . Listen to this while you can sit down and do whatever .

Some how you feel bad for him at the end .

Wouldn’t read but gladly listen.

However, I wasn't engaged in the story. I couldn't bring myself to finish it. It was all over the place and I couldn't sympathize with Anonymous.

Not great. Not bad.
