About this listen

In the years after the Omnic Crisis, the American Southwest is ruled by vultures looking to profit off the chaos. The West is ripe for the taking, and Elizabeth Caledonia Ashe intends to write her name across it.

When Ashe is arrested yet again on the morning of her high school graduation, her aloof, old-money parents decide to disinherit her from the family fortune. To steal back what's rightfully hers, Ashe teams up with her omnic butler, B.O.B., and local ruffian Jesse McCree for a series of heists, catapulting the trio into a game of fast money and dangerous alliances. Along the way, Ashe discovers that family isn't just about blood. It's about the people who've got your back when your back's against the wall.

Full of high-octane chases and action-packed stand-offs, the second novel for Overwatch explores the founding of the Deadlock Gang and the origins of fan-favorite heroes Ashe and McCree. Don't miss this incredible, original story straight from the Overwatch game team and critically acclaimed author Lyndsay Ely.

I love Ashe as she's my main on OW. It's really cool to learn more about her and some parts made me chuckled :)

Love Jennier Hale's voice

Any time you get to hear Jennifer Hale read it is a real treat. She has the ability to bring each character to full vivid life.
The book is based on a game, and a multiplayer shooter at that, but it is so well written that I enjoyed on its own merits as a great story.

Bright and witty

Loved Ashe’s and Cole’s background being explored further! Kept me on my toes! And as always Jennifer’s vocal performance was top notch!

Very entertaining!

Here is hoping that Ms. Hale does more and more audible readings. Asleep in A Sea Of Stars is her opus… so far. This is another fine example of her voice talents bridging the game and literary worlds.

4 Star YA, made 5 Star by the Inimitable Jennifer Hale

Probably my favorite Overwatch Story so far! Amazingly written, great characters, good plot and just overall perfect! Having Jennifer Hale narrate was the cherry on top!

Amazing story, exceptionally read!

Defintely feels more aimed toward a younger audience. Ashe's actually voice actress is the narrator though, which was very cool. It gives some insight in how the Omnic crisis affected different people both positively and negatively, which is extra nice because the world building of Overwatch is normally very very VERY confusing. The bond between Ashe, Mccree and the gang feels genuine. The ending is pretty rough though, full of coincidences, conveniences, plot holes, and a bunch of dumb 'gotcha' moments. Another little nitpick is that the book doesn't really give us any shocking new info; Everything in here is stuff we already know or could reasonably infer.

Nothing spectacular, but worth picking up if you're an Overwatch fan, ESPECIALLY if you're a Mccree or Ashe main. You'll walk away loving them even more.

Solid little Overwatch story

I was not expecting this story to be as good as it was. Very engaging, great expansion of the game’s world, very enjoyable for a fan, great characters and a wonderful history of Ashe as a character.

The Overwatch story is amazing

A fun Overwatch story. I enjoyed listening all the way though! It didn't move to quickly nor did it stay too long on any points. I had an easy grasp on whatever was happening the entire time and appreciate its simplicity without boring me. 11/10 would recommend.

Fun and easy listen
