Publisher's summary

First there were roses and the notes in her mailbox signed simply, "Admirer". Then the accident. One minute Chris Callaway was one of Hollywood's brightest rising stars, starting a new picture that could send her career skyrocketing; the next she was falling from the unfinished deck of her beautiful new Malibu beach house...waking up blind, uncertain whether she would ever see again.

An optimist and a fighter, Chris is determined not to let anyone know she can barely see. But neither Danny Devere, her hairdresser and confidant, nor Jon Larsen, the handsome young detective from LAPD's special stalker squad, can stop the notes that escalate into a chilling obsession. And only a clever trap can stop the madman from stalking her - with beautiful Chris Callaway as the deadly bait.

Loved it!

An old fashion “who done it” complete with sweetness and romance and a twist at the end!

not a bad story...but honestly this has to be one of the most incompetent detectives alive...still a fun listen.

Not to good.

I have read almost all of Mr Woods books through the years. This book is not up to the level of his other writings.

Just didn't work for me.

For some reason I struggled to get through this book, cannot put my finger on why, just did not hold my interest.

Had potential, but….

This is a great story line but the writing is elementary. Some times even childish in nature. Of course it could be because the narrator is absolutely awful. This is not his genre! I’ve heard him narrate before and with the right story he’s good. He was not a good choice for this story. Maybe had I read the book instead of listening to the audiobook my opinion would be different. I had to finish because I had invested a lot of time. It wasn’t easy to finish.

Narrator

If your main character is a woman, you should really have a female narrator... and one who doesn't sound like a tv detective from the 1940s.
It's hard to get past, even with a decent storyline. This one is just okay

Strong female character

Narrator sounds like a cross between Bogart and Colombo.
I’ve come to love this author.
