Interesting characters
I am not a huge fan of books where the magic system seems to solve all the main characters problems, and this book suffered from that in my opinion. The main characters are interesting and easy to root for though, which made the story interesting.

Super entertaining and engaging
I enjoyed this new book/series from a new author. The book quickly engages the reader and holds their attention through to the end, leaving them anxious for future books in the series. I really enjoyed the magic system and the development of key characters. The book is well written and very entertaining. I look forward to the next in the series.

A MUST read for any fantasy fan!
Dark Tidings is an awesome new series from Ryan O'Neill. I have been reading fantasy for years, my fav authors are Brandon Sanderson, Tolkien and Will Wight, if you're a fan of any of these authors then you owe it to yourself to buy this book. Dark Tidings mixes epic fantasy with action and adventure with enough action to keep you excited while mixing in classic fantasy elements. The characters are full of depth and surrounded by excellent world building. And who doesn't want an undead wolf companion?!? I met the author at Dragonsteel this past year, he is incredibly passionate about his writing and it feels so good to support him knowing what a nice person he is! I can't wait for book 2!
