A Gotrek and Felix Audio Drama

Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire, or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between, and depends entirely upon whom you ask...

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Gotrek and Felix find themselves in another fix! What can the adventurers do when a daemon threatens the soul of the legendary Slayer?

THE STORY

While travelling north in pursuit of hobgoblin gold, Gotrek and Felix find themselves holed up in the infamous Castle Bilenkov as guests of the curious Count Viktor. While the old man seems harmless enough, Felix soon finds himself the target of an ancient Kislevite curse, battling for his very soul against the insidious daemon Ghrizzhtadt. With Gotrek's resistance to magic waning, the adventurers have no choice but to confront the eternal evil of the Everliving.

An audio tie-in to the bestselling Warhammer series – produced by Heavy Entertainment for Black Library. Written by David Guymer. Narrated by Jonathan Keeble. Performed by Gareth Armstrong, Chris Fairbank and David Timson. Music composed by Simon Slater.

It was most definitely a Gotrek and Felix tale, but not worth buying on it’s own. The unnecessary additional voice actors detracted from the normally excellent work of Jonathan Keeble.

A shadow of better offers

fun short story. kind of cool to have an audio drama. was fun to hear different voice actors for the different characters. I would definitely recommend it

I'm giving this a five because keeble still did most of the narration and it is gotrek and Felix but what were they thinking? why did they make Felix sound like a Dracula why does gotrek sound like someone's kooky Grandpa it's much better when keeble just does all the voices he's done like 20 books so far why would you change it

what were they thinking

I would say to just pick it up on a sale although it is fun I think $10 for an hour is just a bit much but with everything going on in it, I would say you could do a lot worse. I would’ve liked to have a little more production value, but everyone did their part and it’s nice to kinda have an old radio show sounding adventure

Short fun adventure

This audio drama is a decent gap-filler between certain books I forgot the name off (I know it’s before Manslayer)

No one can ever get enough of Gotrek and Felix but if I had to be honest get it when it’s on sale.

The Empire is German.

Why is Felix Polish? It's extremely distracting. The story is entertaining enough, but it's really distracting having the VA not get the very unsubtle way the world is built. Gotrek's voice is not what I'd expect, but it's fine. It's just that Felix sounding like a Kislevite is very jarring.

The Empire is aggressively German in the lore and Felix is from Altdorf. Why does he sound, at best, eastern European? It's a bizarre choice and it undermines it for me.

I'm fine with most of the Jonathan Keeble books where he has a British accent. GW is British and that's just, a major part of their vibe. It's just this weird choice of accent that makes no sense either with the corporate background or the lore that I find grating.

Story is good enough otherwise, but the performance really throws it.

Accents?

The story is short and sweet with a villain that jas a cool twist that drew a chuckle from me at the end. I did not like the voice actor's portrayal of Gotrek though. He sounds very off in his intonation, somewhere between gruff and supercilious that doesn't quite manage either.

Entertaining short story

This book would be a lot better if they had actually taken the time to read or had just hired Jonathan keeble to do the voices that had existed well throughout the series, despite this, David Guymer does not shine brighter than William King or Nathan Long, but is still a solid entry in the continuity of the books. it is not very clear where this book stands in the tangle, either

A half decent audio drama sunk by a terrible performance

The voice acting for Gotrek, I feel like should've sounded more gruff, like how the narrator telling MANY stories through audio books, of Gotrek & Felix novels previously in the recent pasts.

otherwise, good story to listen to, when you're going or staying in one place for an hour or so.

The Voice Acting.

it didn't hold up to the regular books. Definitely grasping at straws. I would not recommend.
