About this listen

This book relays my stories of being a country veterinarian in a rural area treating all sorts of animals. I have been writing down my experiences at the office and in the field for 30 years. These stories are often educational, emotional, humorous and unpredictable, but always entertaining.

This audiobook is my first effort to share them with a wider audience. The stories involve working with all kinds of animals, but also involves interacting with their owners. Sometimes, the second is more of a challenge than the first, which makes for interesting stories.

Interesting

Humor with some educational moments. Over the years I've learned a lot of fun facts about animals from the tv vet shows and this solidified my knowledge and built on it a bit. This shows that most animals are infinitely smarter than humans, plus they never ask for money or to borrow your car. lol. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this even the few sad parts . I highly recommend this. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did an exceptional job bringing it to life.

Veterinarian Life

I found Country Vet to be just as educational as it was entertaining. I used to be a vet tech, and i know that it can get wild in the office. I loved the fact that no matter what, he still kept his sense of humor and love for the animals' well-being. The book is educational, heartbreaking, and humorous. I highly recommend this book to animal lovers. The narrator does a great job bringing the story to life and tickling your funny bone.

Love all the different stories

Some stories seem like there should be a bit more to them. I know these are real life stories, but some just seem to hang in midair. And then again, I guess in real
Life, they do at times. Some stories are happy, some are sad, but all of the stories show love and compassion from the vet about what he does. It’s clearly noted that he loves his job, even on those tough days.

Country Vet

This is an engaging book that gives listeners stories from a country vet’s perspective. People and owners in the country have different views and ideas about wildlife. Ranchers and farmers live different lives and deal with wildlife and the animals in their lives much different than those that live in the city making this an interesting listen. Birth, death and even wildlife are looked at very differently in the country. Some of the stories were funny and some will pull on your heart. This is an enjoyable look at some of the vets’ clients and animals. Narrator Tom Lennon does a nice job with the narration.

Was Alright

I worked as a vet assistant, and the stories that this veterinarian told, at least to me, were not all that amusing. His disregard for wildlife that are considered pests to the local farmers was sad. some of the people he talked about sounded dumb as stumps, and I was not sure if he was describing them truely or was being facetious.
Narrator does a good job with the storyline in this book.
