Publisher's summary

James is living the life he always wanted. He has his own rustic cabin in the countryside, peace, quiet, and some lovely companions to share his joy with.

But there is much left to do! James will need to expand his cabin to make it more comfortable for his—ahem—lady friends. Also, harvest is coming up for the redheaded farm girl, and she might need a hand or two around the farm….

Luckily, magic can help. James has plenty of arcane exploration to do, and with the help of some of the forest’s mysterious but friendly inhabitants, he might even pick up the art of enchanting!

With a magically talented cat girl at his side, and a skittish fox girl peeking in on the regular, James will have his hands full.

Another awesome installment in an excellent series

This one had me wishing for the MC's lifestyle. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here (down into the dark reaches of the cellar, or expanding into the community!). Bated breath here.

Part 2

If you love the slow life harem books, this series is for you. Cat girl, fox girl, and other girls with animalistic qualities look like they may be added soon. I recommend to grab a beer and find a place where you can chill and listen.

A lot better!

I can’t put quite put my thumb on what made this one more enjoyable than the first book… But I’ll probably point in part to a better pacing for storytelling and the inclusion of more lore. The writing also improved. The relationships developed more depth and the intimate scenes calmed down on the porn-like aspects. I believe the author will only get better with time.
For the narrators, I believe that Scarlett performed better. Specifically, her range of emotion and added sounds that have her characters more life.
Both narrators improved with adding some new nuances to their characters. Adding that extra spark. The intimate scenes are still a bit awkward but o believe they will get better with time and practice.

good book, eh performance

the book is very enjoyable. it's got fun and creative scenes to it too. but the performance is meh. they don't make the characters sound authentic when they speak. the words and tone don't always match with the male and the female voices have a bit too much of an unrealistic drawl

not a bad story

I was given this book for free at my request to give an honest review.

Over all this a good continuation of the story. we see more character development and more magic usage.

That being said, some of the sex scenes are slightly cringy. The dialog doesn't flow smoothly. I am unsure if this is from the writer or the narrator.

This story may not be a work of art, but it is still a good story. I look forward to the next book.

A great installment!

It is a great installment to what is shaping up to be a fun and oddly addictive story. I am usually not a huge slice of life guy, but this one is fun . I like that it's not so far out there that if magic was real but not openly known. I could see this being how someone would react to it all.

Good story, bad male narrator.

The story is cute and straight forward. The woman narrator is good and adds to the enjoyment. The male narrator is so bland, uninspired, and un-inflective that it really makes me want to put it down.
