Gabriela

Stefan Sabbioni showed up uninvited in my bedroom on my 16th birthday. He stood in the shadows smelling of whiskey and death and wrapped a broken, blood-crusted necklace around my neck. I thought he'd strangle me with it.

That night, he left a message for my father. He said he'd be back to take something precious.

I never delivered that message, though. I wonder if things would be different if I had because now, two years later, he's back. And he's not hiding in any shadows.

He's come to make good on his promise.

He's back to take that something precious.

Me.

Stefan

Marchese is the manipulator of my family's tragedy. I won't just bring him to his knees. I'll bury him for what he did.

Taking his daughter is only the beginning. I'll do it knowing I'm starting a war. I'll do it knowing my enemies will become his allies. They'll stop at nothing to destroy me and he'll stop at nothing to get her back.

I've never shied away from war, though. I'm not one to play nice and I don't share my toys. I'll demolish you if you touch what's mine.

And she is most definitely mine.

good

This is not my favorite of NK. lacked a bit in external character development, and seemed the storyline was packed in too quickly. Just odd timing/cadence. Love NK's work, just not as excited about this one. Good narrating.

I absolutely love this author. I’ve basically read everything she’s written this book was a little lighter then her usual but great story

Ok

Not as good as Torn(series). There is a good amount of action and mystery in this duet more than romance.

Not greatest story line

I thought the story line was all over the place. I think Natasha Knight has better books but this book is still worth reading.

Love the story plot

It’s s slow burn book. I usually don’t mind a naïve female heroine but this one was way too stupid for my liking. I wanted to stop listening because she just made stupid decisions after stupid decision. She’s hot and cold too often. Other that thank the plot and performance was really good.

Gabby was soo annoying!

I get the predicament she was in, but darn, she acted like a ignorant rash 13 year old. I kept finding myself admonishing her out loud for how she was acting 🤦🏼‍♀️ I really wanted to smack her and take Stephan for myself 😄 Narration was excellent though.

loved this series (2 books) the dual narration is what I have been getting to listen as much as possible. I even would take a0 longer route home so I could listen to more!!

Great Story - really enjoyed

I really enjoyed this story line. I appreciated the author giving the two main characters time to grow an attachment before forcing themselves on one another. The biggest issue I had with the storyline was Clara. First, you never really understand her relationship with Stefan or Rafa. With knowing how the story ends, I kind of understand the thought behind her character but it is too weird. Maybe it wouldn't have been if they didn't blatantly keep referring to her as a relative/cousin and her over the top throwing herself at each of the men. It is just too weird for me. Other than that, story was very complex and a great listen.
