About this listen

From USA Today best-selling author Brett Battles comes the third book in his exciting Excoms thriller series.

Ananke and the rest of the Excoms team thought they would get a little bonding time to kick back and relax. But the world has different ideas.

After the organization that they work for discovers that over 100 prisoners from a now dismantled human trafficking operation are missing, the team is sent out to find them and bring them back.

With few clues, they must follow a trail that leads from Washington State to Panama and beyond. And when they reach the end, what they find is far beyond anything they ever expected.

It’ll take everyone working at the top of their game, but even that might not be enough.

Not a disappointment!

I really like this author, a lot, and this latest book is as good as all the others. Now to wait for the next one!

Brett Battles is the best!

There are 32 titles by Brett Battles available at Audible and there are 32 Brett Battles books in my Audible Library. My favorite of his several series is Jonathan Quinn. The Excomes series is a Quinn series spinoff. Like the first two novels in the Excoms series CITY OF NOPE is another 5 star winner. The subject of CITY OF NOPE is human trafficking for the purpose of slave labor in Latin America. Leave it to Ananke and her Excom crew to resolve the issue. All of the Excom crew were introduced in the Jonathan Quinn series. Assassin for hire Ananke was a major character in The Buried (Quinn Book 9). She is now a good guy. Allyson Johnson does an excellent job of narrating this series.

Worth waiting for

Simply LOVE Brett Battle's books. I have to wait a little longer for the books to come out in audio but it is always worth the wait.I found the subject matter of the book a little bit disturbing as it deals with modern day slavery which is a real issue but as usual good triumphs over evil so all good.
Now to sit back and wait for the next one - hopefully not too far away.

This was a great story that kept my attention right up to the end! The narrator did a really good job as well.

Love the ExComs!

Within the first few minutes this book grabs ahold of your heart and breaks it! The first chapter tells the story of people who have been deceived. They applied for good jobs and hired but were instead drugged and transported to a locked facility. Their belongings stolen from them, they were forced to labor behind locked gates for 15 hours per day. When one person tries to escape he is executed. A thousand or more people work in exhaustion, hunger and fear.
Enter the Ex-Coms. They've been tasked with finding 100 or so missing people, they have no idea what kind of hive they are about to uncover. They also don't know relatives of the missing have formed a group to find their relatives.
There is plenty of action in this fast paced third book in the Excom series. I don't want to spoil this for anyone so I will leave it at that.
Allyson Johnson does an excellent job narrating.
Very HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Another great story and narration! Love the EXCOMS

I really love this series! All three books have been great so far!

I love all the characters and action in this series. The book grabs you at the beginning and then you just don't want to put it down. There is always something happening. These 5 excoms put together by the Administrator makes for great stories of them helping people, many people.

The story line was great, I would hope that some of these things don't happen but they probably do.

There is so much great dialogue throughout the entire book.

As for the narration, it's amazing! Allyson Johnson does a superb job on all the voices and the accents. The men sound like men and the women all have their own voice. She reads with emotion and has a great reading voice!

If you have not read this series I highly recommend it!

The ExComms best adventure yet.

Watch out, Quinn, the ExComms might take over as my favorites. I was supposed to only to listen to this while doing tedious chores, but I just couldn't stop listening. The characters are interesting and the plot pulls you in,. The narrator was good but nobody can compare to Scott Brick. Can't wait for the next book!

Another great book about the ExComs..

Another great read about Ananke, Liesel, Rosario, Dylan, and, always finding trouble, Ricky. They were assigned the task of rescuing about 1500 slaves hidden in the jungle and forced to make clothes electronics and whatever else was needed, for some pretty horrible bad guys, in a place called “The City.” It was thrilling from beginning to end.

The only problem I had was, the same as usual with male authors, is the word “said.” In this 324-page book the word “said” was used 852 times. I mean really. Murmur was used 2 times, muttered 9 times, yelled 14 times, and whispered 59 times, which wasn’t nearly enough. Once they reached the area where “The City” was located there should have been nothing but whispering going on, since there was only 5 of them and well over 100 of the bad-guy-guards. You would NOT speak in a regular voice. Just sayin.’

So, no romance of any kind and the F-bomb was used 1 time.

As to the narration: Allyson Johnson did a fine job on the voices and emotions.

Amazing narration

I love Brett's stuff, and this series does not disappoint. Action packed but here's a tip, do not read at night unless you want to stay up way past your bedtime listening. Also wonderful narration by Allyson Johnson. She is able to switch between accents with ease. My only complaint is the character of Ricky. He is a real pain and reminds me of Jar Jar Binks. I can only hope that Brett sees how irritating he is and tones him down (or leaves him out).
